Caribbean comes to mind, haven't been for a long time but the shows are impressive.

Both songs appear on the same album - Super 3 Cha - great album, great group. They play around Suk every now and then - Climax last year and Hillary Bar a coupe years ago - lot of fun watching the girls really enjoying themselves.

[*]the walk down sukhumvit still almost impossible with all the street stalls. number of middle eastern families in typical "sortie" mode: just about every bmo (black moving object) pushing a baby carriage, followed by an empty handed husband eyeing the street candy, followed by the indonesian maid carrying multiple bags of purchases...

[*]number of fl's a block each side of sukhumvit robinson's - damn, i must be getting older, because they certainly looked younger...

[*]traffic back to the horror it was in the mid-nineties. can't imagine what it would be like without the skytrain.

[*]soi cowboy quite the sea of neon. enjoyed sitting outside, watching the passing parade. customer/server departures, with the server returning within the hour, brought back memories of dubai's cylone. from observation, seemed like st was the preferred mo, especially for the lookers (guess no surprise there, but i do remember when lt was preferred way back when).

[*]soi 7's bier garten still the same. mostly nothing to be interested in, but did spot a few attractive ones, even a stunner (caution: driving glasses left at home, so that observation might be flawed.)

[*]had a shave and haircut. had a hard time finding my old barbershop on sukhumvit between soi's 5 and 7 - really hemmed in by all the street carts, and several shops to try and pick out "the" one from, but did finally find it. afterwards, same bar, 2nd night, much improved "attention" from staff. they were a bit embarassed when i pointed out i had been in the night before, and it's a small bar (5 star, live music, on soi cowboy). no comparison to dubai's seaview band, but good enough here.

[*]tia maria's seems to have left to be re-incarnated as some other country's resteraunt. crap mexican food, but did have decent and relatively cheap pitchers of margaritas.

[*]no problem t-shirt store still there in mbk, but their top notch designer seems to have left - bland selection.

summary: bkk stays the same. you can be gone a month, or gone years, but the fun and smiles there when you return.

Some people complain that go-go girls are too expensive.

Some complain that Bar Su are too expensive.

Some complain that Internet girls (escorts) are too expensive.


However, they all target their specified customers.


Bar Su girls target the lazy business man, who does not want to go outside to find a girl, who wants to buy a few drinks in the hotel bar, sign it on his expense account and then take the girl up to his room, minimal hassle. Therefore they can charge anything from 3K to 5K for short time.

Internet Escorts mostly target Muslim business travellers, the ones who cannot be seen to go outside and pick up a girl, so they are limited to phone call booking of escorts, which is why these Escort girls ask for high prices, and get it.


There are many scenes and many reasons why.

I have been going to nana hotel for about the last five years.

Tonight I had some guests over for tea in my room. Actually we were having some fun. It was eight guests and yes one was a bar girl. Not all of the girls were bar girls. Including my wife from the Philippines.

Nana security does take I'd cards from guests to the rooms. So my female guests left their I'd cards with the security desk before going to my room

We were in the room maybe two hours and returned to the security desk to get the girls I'd cards back and go to eat a late snack.

Security did not have the I'd cards and said they were being checked by the police and the information was photo copied and they were not returned yet.

We went to the front desk and the manager at the desk said the police were taking all guest information from them and that if we wait then the girls were get their I'd card returned.

One of my friends was not happy and asked more questions of security why they would keep information on guests. And security told him that all guests are prostitudes and the police would have the information on the guests.

Now I am aware of the necessity of security with guests and some guests can be theives and more. But to send information on all female guests to the police and report them as prostitudes is amazing?

I am very confused as to why and what purpose they are doing this.

Two of my female guests have never worked in a bar nor have they ever sold their body on the streets.

One female guest is trying to get a USA visa?

So is there a change in nana hotel? Or in the government getting information?

Does anyone know the inside reason?

Also do I have to be a little concerned as to what reports and information is going to the thai government about my friends and about me?

Is this something that means nana hotel will be a place to stay out of because of data collection? And profiling of me and my guests?

Does anyone know of any university’s/education centers that are close enough to monger locations yet isolated enough to where the students or school officials would not notice. I have been given the opportunity to set up a summer study abroad program in economics. My employer will pay for me to take two weeks for exploratory set up and then it would be a summer program every year after that. This seems like a great opportunity to combine both work and pleasure while my trip cost and stay would be paid for by my employer. Any information on education centers in Bangkok would be greatly appreciated.

A HIGH-FLYING Sydney banker who stole $7 million from his employer allegedly spent much of the cash on prostitutes, showering them with lavish gifts.

Sung Kyu Chung, 41, gave evidence in Sydney District Court last week where he has pleaded guilty to fraud charges.

The senior manager, who worked in the Korea Exchange Bank's Sydney office, was charged in December, 2008 by City Central Fraud Unit detectives.

Chung faced a preliminary sentence hearing last week. He is due to be sentenced later this month.

The court heard he regularly splashed out on business-class flights to Thailand, where he would visit high-priced prostitutes and stay in five-star hotel rooms.

Prosecutors questioned Chung over alleged "gifts" he bought for the escorts. These included a Mercedes-Benz sedan given to a Thai prostitute and money transferred to another Bangkok call-girl to buy a house.

Chung pleaded guilty to siphoning a total of $7.2 million from the bank by staging at least 77 false transactions.

The court heard he used $1 million of the plundered funds on education and medical fees.

A further $1.1 million was used to buy a house in Marsfield, which has been seized, while $500,000 was lost on a bad investment with Lehman Brothers, the US investment bank which collapsed in the global financial crisis.

A significant amount of the missing money has yet to be recovered.

The seven-year fraud was uncovered in 2005 when Chung was subjected to a blackmailing attempt by a former colleague, the court heard.

In 2008, auditors from KPMG discovered massive discrepancies in the bank's finances.

The court heard that between 2001 and 2008, Chung routinely used the log-in names and passwords of bank clients to send money to his own account.

When the transfers were complete, he fudged computer and accounting records to mask the transactions as having been carried out from overseas, confusing his bank superiors.

He has been allowed conditional bail while he awaits sentencing.

You should know that Nana Hotel is a place where prostitutes hang out and that nearly all girls there are assumed to be hookers. There are regular police raids in this area. Imagine if some innocent female friend of yours got taken away by the police just for being in the vicinity? Maybe I'm being a bit paranoid but there is the assumption of non-registered guests being hookers.

Think you can now see a reason not to stay there if you entertain innocent type guests.

Most of us wouldn't consider staying there. Having to pass through the Nana carpark full of ladyboys is enough to put most of us off.

This Hotel really has just about reached shit-hole status!
Its a very long time since I have stayed there!
IMHO even their disco is as low class as it comes, although I haven't been there very recently, to be fair.
My friend has a relative who works for the disco, which is one reason I was there some time back.

My last memory of Nana Hotel, from quite a few years back, was a ladyboy was in the lift with me and got out at same floor as me, so I was wondering if "she" was following me, but turned out to be visiting some guy in another room nearby.

I arrived in Bangkok on January 25th around noon. By now I had already been to France and Inida and been on the road since the 10th.

I had a pre-arranged ride to JW Marriott and so no hassle getting out of the airport and into the heart of the biggest playhouse in the world.

I exchanged $200 at the airport.

I was tired and in no mood for going to bars to chase pussy. When the porter brought my bags up I asked him if he could arrange a good massage for me. He said sure and told me she would be up in my room in 15 minutes and would cost 1200 bhat for 2 hours. I said great and went to the club room to get a drink. Just when I returned I heard a knock on the door. There she was. A tall woman around 27-28, fair and about a 5 on the looks scale. I did not care as my back was hurting.

She gave me a great massage for about an hour on my back. Turned me over and another good massage for about 20 minutes until the Mr. woke up. She asked if I wanted boom boom. I asked how much. We settled on 500 bhat after about 30 seconds of haggling. Great covered BJ and I was ready for bed. Total cost 1700 bhat for no hassle room service.

Next day I went out for a walk and was accosted by a tuk tuk guy. He wanted to give me a ride for 30 bhat for one hour. Took him up and he drove around, aimlessly for me, by design for him, as he tried to get me buy a custom suit at one place and then some jewellery at another overpriced place.

I did not buy a thing but did get a pretty fair picture of the area surrounding the Marriott, which by the way is right accross from Nana Entertainment.

I also noted that there are massge places, some with very young faces sitting outside all over the City. The Tuk Tuk guy tried to persuade me to go to one. Thanks to this forum, I declined.

Next I walked to Nan Plaza and was accosted by a Taut. He showed me into a nearby ***** house full of chunky, overpainted, mostly overaged girls in a fishbowl. I am forgetting the name of the place. They all waved and smiled and I smiled and waved back. The guy asked "you like" I said "don;t like" and walked out. He was pissed and walked past me and later I saw him standing exactly under the yellow building near Nana where I saw him before looking for his next victim.

As for me, I walked in and out of many bars and got a foot massage near Soi 8 and a beer across from Nana in a very westernized Irish bar.

Selected a place that had published rates and called. They said they would send a girl within 30 minutes for 800 bhat for 2 hours. I said I needed a pretty girl. They tried to upsell. You want every thing for 3000. I said no, just massage.

Knock on the door in 30 mnts and I see a stunning 24-25 year old slim and perky girl at the door. I would give her a 7 on looks. Good Enlish and great personality.

I offered her drinks. She took water. I was doing email and asked her to wait a few. She just sat and watched and waited until I was finished.

When I got up she went to wash up and came out with a g string and bra only and asked me to undress and lay on my front.

A great massage started and went on for an hour or more. Then the she slowed a little. I asked her if she needed to rest. She jumped off the bed went to the mini-bar took a beer and asked if she could have it. I said go ahead. She walked my back while she drank it. Then another. Then she lay down next to me and I gave her a bit of a back rub and we both snuggled under the covers.

Renegotiated her stay to 2000 bhat for every thing. She was great in bed and I had an excellent time. When she left it was around 1 AM. Must have been around 4-5 hours and did not show that she wanted to leave.

I left Bangkok for the States the next morning - January 27th with money to spare out of my $200 that I had cashed.

I know some may not agree with what I paid and the limited choices I had but I was tired and did not have much time. Considering everything, I think I had a great experience in Bangkok, two ladies and some touring, great food, all for under $200 and within 48 hours.

Most of us? Have you conducted a survey? Why not just speak for yourself and say "I"? I have no problem walking through the Nana parking lot, and judging by the number of guys who show up there at around 2am, I'd be more likely to think that for 'most of us' the LBs there are a non-issue. The disco was the best spot for FL in BKK a few years back, but turned crappy after mgmt kept raising the door fee to absurd levels. It's been closed since last July.

I agree with you though that the OP on this one made a pretty dumb mistake staying at Nana Hotel with his wife and having non-working female guests come over and hand over their IDs. That request should have been an obvious red flag. But ... it's being the Nana hotel is about as big a red flag as you can hope for. Who takes their wife to stay at a hooker hotel? It does seem outrageous the hotel would then report them to police as prostitutes though. Nice "customer service." I've never stayed there, don't think I ever will, especially after that report.

Surprised you'd still be asking this question. Hotel staff just officially accused your wife to the police of being a prostitute. I guess if you're cool with that, no reason not to stay there.

When I stayed there I saw a couple families checking in. Almost wanted to approach them to clue them in, but didn't.
