I don't know of a Marine Bar unless it's one of those beer bars along Soi Marine. I don't frequent beer bars either since go-go's are a much better bang for the buck.

I posted all in caps, absent or incorrect grammar and I think my first title was "WHERE CAN I GET A GUN IN PATTAYA". It drove the oldsters nuts and I had a blast. The funny thing was I was in Pattaya during most of the "reporting" so when Bruce (the site owner) checked my IP he confirmed I was really in Thailand and posted to that effect increasing the credibility of the author.

It's a mystery how one could read this board and somehow get Pattaya is an escape from mass culture and boorish behavior. Dude, Pattaya IS mass culture and boorish behavior. It's about as representative of Thailand as Taco Bell is to Mexico.

Wonder where you're taking Muay Thai lessons? I usually go to Siptholek (sp?) but they moved the gym to BFE a few years ago and it's a good moto trek out there. Tuk is great at teaching elbow strikes and I've known him for years. I was interested in Fairtek but never checked it out other than going to a match there. Hard to believe you can improve in a few weeks but the individual instruction and training is awesome.

Pats was different for me as well last trip (Dec 2010). I first went there for the first time around 1990. I feel the attitudes have definitely changed although I've avoided going there in the peak of high season before.

Yet, isn't the root of suffering lack of acceptance of the inevitability of change?

Pattaya Beach is nasty as shit and I wouldn't go near that water. Jomtien Beach is cleaner, but murky. At Koh Larn (Coral Island) the water is much clearer but there is nothing to see but sand and rocks.

The water is crystal clear there, and there is a little more than sand and rocks to look at, but there is really no good place around Thailand for great diving or snorkeling. IMHO.

I'm new and will be making the journey from Canada to Thailand in March. Ill be staying in Pattaya for 3 nights then heading to BKK for 6.

I have a few questions, not including hotel would 5, 000 thb a day be enough to enjoy myself for the 9 nights I'm in Thailand?

In your opinion what are the 2 best Soapies in Pattaya and BKK? Best ladies not prices.

If I'm correct 3, 600 thb is for 2 ladies at Devils Den, do you recommend?

Even after happy-hour, drink prices are rougly the same as beer bars and lady drinks are also about the same.

At beer bars a girl, usually one you don't want, will attach herself to you and make you feel obligated to buy her drinks as long as you stay there, and there is no entertainment; just boring bar games and shallow chatter.

Yes, the girls you can find a go-go's are far better looking and more sexually desireable IMHO than most girls at beer bars, and the big difference is that they are up there on stage showing off their goods -- Often total nudity is on the menu -- and you don't feel obligated to buy them drinks unless you want to.

You just can't beat the entertainment at go-go's. Would you rather watch pretty girls dancing naked and showing their charms, or play connect 4 over and over while buying lady drinks and trying to carry on a stupid conversation with a fully dressed girl? For me it's a no-brainer.

When it comes to choosing a lady to take home, the fines and fees charged by the bar and your go-go girl are roughly double than what you might pay for a beer bar girl, but you usually get what you pay for.

Bottom line: If you just enjoy the great entertainment at go-go's and don't barfine girls, it's a much better value than beer bars. If you do bar fine, chances are the girl is far better looking than a beer bar girl and worth the extra cost.

I am coming to Pattaya on 29 jan sun for 7 days stay.

Now I can concentrate much on bedroom snorlkelling.

Hi everyone, I'm new and I'll be making the Journey for my first time to Thailand in March. I will be staying 9 nights. 3 in Pattaya and 6 in BKK. I have a few questions that I'd like to ask if possible.

Will 5, 000 THB a day (not including hotel) be enough to have a very nice time while I'm in the land of smiles?

In your oppinion which are the 2 best places in Pattaya and BKK for Soapies / Oilies (Best Girls not prices)?

I am interested in going to the Devils Den and from what I read it's 2 ladies for 3, 600 thb? Would you recommend?
