A chica told me that nikki's was busted because "according to the news", nikki's was forcing out of town girls (allegedly abducted) into the sex trade.
I have been to nikki's many times and cannot believe anything so blatant and stupid can possibly happen.
While I do not discount the possibility that a piece of article like that may exist, my theory is that some hungry cop was not paid off in time and they just needed a reason to bust the place.
Has anyone heard of the same?

One of my faves, and I, left Las Pulgas about 11-ish last night. I was parked in the LP parking structure located between 6th and 7th on Madero.
We pulled out, turned south (it's a one-way street). I went to turn east on 8th and it was blocked. I had to continue south, right into the alcohol checkpoint they had set up. SHIT!!
They stopped me, I rolled down the window and this dick asked if I'd been drinking. I told him one beer (maybe a mistake). He just said to pull over to the left behind another car. Then some shaven-headed cocksucker made me get out of the car and started talking to me. I played dumb and told him I didn't speak much Spanish. So, in English he told me to hand over my license, car registration and keys. I had no choice, so I did. Then they made me stand in a line and wait to go into the trailer. These guys, while not rude, were certainly not friendly. There was no bribing my way out of this. They meant business.
I have to admit I was very, very nervous. This is the first time this has ever happened. Also, this is the very first time in Tijuana where I actually drove my car after going to a bar.
My turn came and they made me go up the stairs and sit at a little desk. Some slimy cocksucker in a blue shirt started asking questions. I played dumb again and he just said "Americano?" No shit, Sherlock. Then he put a tube into the portable breathalyzer and told me to exhale into it. I did, as slowly as I could, while he warned me not to stop.
The machine beeped. He looked at it and it said. 034. He looked a bit disappointed and told me, in a rather curt manner, that I was free to leave. Well, chinga tu pinche madre, cabron.
I collected my license, registration and keys from the uniformed lady at the front of the trailer, got into my car and left. On the way down Agua Caliente there was another checkpoint, but, thank God, they didn't stop me.
All this on a Thursday. Dayum.

If you say no, they may ask you more questions, looking for signs you have been drinking. Never say just one. Who drinks just 1 beer?

In fact it is good to know that the TJPD did not shake you down, did not plant a small bag of cocaine in your wallet, did not steal any cash from you, did not take you for a ride in the darkest part of Tijuana to scare the shit out of you. Instead, they did what they were supposed to do as police and LET you GO when they found out that you did not go over the limit. If it were SDPD, you might not be so lucky. The least of which was that your pretty girlfriend might have to do something to get you out of the situation.
It is good to know that TJPD is not as corrupt as the SDPD, at least in this incident.

San Diego is a whole different story. Complete ASSHOLES! And I know a few of them. I know a few that travel (Quite questionable conduct coming to Tijuana! That they would not want their supervisors to know!) On the otherhand if it were OK to go there probably less sexual-conduct problems on the force / shit who are we kidding THERE WOULD be problems!

I knew it was a mistake the second it escaped my lips. I wasn't hammered and I don't think I smelled of alcohol. The kid was in his 20's, so he probably had little experience anyway. I should have just said no. In my particular case, over the past 3+ hours, or so, I'd had three beers, one shot of mescal, several dances at Las Pulgas, some carne seca and two street hot dogs. My last beer had been about 30 minutes before being stopped.

In Mexico, on the other hand, I have no idea. I do know this little trailer was brightly lit and had virtually zero privacy. I felt pretty sure that there would be no way to bribe ones way out of it because there was no place to surreptitiously slip the slimy little weasel a few bux.

Going to the love motels is a pain without a car and it's hard to find a lot of my favorite "off the beaten track" restaurants without a car. However, whenever I'm going out drinking or dancing I always park my car at the hotel and cab it wherever I go. This trip I wasn't staying overnight, and didn't plan to get hammered, so I figured it was OK to drive. I guess, ultimately, it was. But never again.
Going to be here for 3 nights and was wondering if anyone has had any luck with the chicas. Are there any good strip clubs or brothels that are worth checking out? I will be staying at the RBH and may check out papas and beer and a few other popular bars, but I'm more interested in strip clubs. Are there any street walkers or places to find putas?

So I am wondering if I take my cell phone to Mexico and someone calls me, can they tell that I am not in the US?
