The 200+ bucks you're paying officetels and anmas isn't going to the girls, there are so many costs involved, the girls would be lucky to see 40-50% of that money. You're paying for the environment and staff.

Officetel. Rent, utilities, manager's fee, kickbacks for the building owner / management, security.

Anma. Building rent / mortgage, utilities, staff, police kickbacks, security, owner / manager's cut.

Agency. Driver / security, fuel, manager's cut.

Essentially these girls are taking home 80-100 bucks per 200 you spend. If you go to one of those 130 k officetels, the girls get even less.

The ratio is the same for RLD girls, they take home 30-40 k per 80 you spend. The rest of the money goes on rent, utilities etc.

The real savvy girls are the indies who charge anma / officetel prices with almost no expenses. With the exception of security / driver (which very few indies in Korea have anyway), those girls are taking home 150-200 k for CBJ and one shot per hour.

I prefer my service providers to have a mutual understanding with me. We both want something from each other, and should be willing to work with each other to reach a compromise that best benefits both parties. A satisfied customer means more repeat visits, which means more money for the girl.

It seems like most of the girls who provide services for 300 k Won / HR are typically older than 22. I'm genuinely curious if there exists a higher end market for 18-21 year old (eg. University students who only do it as an occasional side gig or maybe even models). In some other Asian cities I've lived in, there is a way to access this pool of women.

I suspect such a market exists in Seoul, but they are only advertised to Koreans. Hoping someone can shed some light.

I was in the area last week, so I figured I'd head over to Cheongnyangni to see how much it had shrunk since I reported about it two months ago.

One effect I've noticed is that some of the really hot, girls that work the prime hours were now more willing to be with a foreigner. I approached a few who I'd seen before, but never gave me the time of day. They were offering services, but at foreigner taxed up price. Some were willing for 100,000 and others wanted 150,000 and up. I had no problem with the $100, but no way I was going to pay more than that.

As you can see, I'm new to these boards.

Quick intro: I'm traveling to Seoul in November. I both look and speak like a native Korean. I'm also new to the hobby so I've been reading through this thread gathering what information I could to help make this trip enjoyable and memorable. To that end, I'm hoping I can be of some help to any fellow hobbyists that might be in Seoul around the same time. Hopefully, I can open some doors you might not have been able to access before.

After reading some posts here hinting at them, I've discovered several of those Korean bbs boards where services are posted and updated daily with SP availability. They are written completely in Korean and the hobby industry in general uses abbreviations and other jargon so heavily it could be difficult to decipher even if one reads Korean well. These sites host listings for a range of services including officetels, spas, anmas, room salons, kiss rooms, etc. However, for the rest of my post I will focus on officetels. Reservations are virtually always made over the phone so one must speak to the 'shil-jang' or guy in charge who will let you know whether a particular girl and time is available and when the reservation is made he will provide the location and directions. This, as well as the face to face meet with the 'shil-jang' before he tells you which room the girl is in, are likely the primary hurdles for foreigners and that's where I'd like to help!

Anyways, a bit more about those bbs boards. They vary in presentation but in all the ones I've seen the 'shil-jangs' basically copy & paste their listing across all of them more or less identically and update them on a daily basis. Some are rather simple: sign-up for free to peruse the listings and while these provide all the information you need to place a reservation what they seem to lack are user reviews. Then there are some bbs boards that have an intricate level-up system where long time members are rewarded with more options and incentives (basically games to redeem points for a chance to win discount coupons) and in order to level up you need to participate on the site, whether it be leaving reviews of your own or leaving comments in reviews you've read. Additionally, one can earn or win points by visiting the site frequently (some may find this system familiar as I've seen it used in many other Korean websites). This combined with discount incentives for repeat customers results in a lot of user reviews that one can peruse.

Which sort of leads me to my next point, some of the listings feel spammy -- similar in nature to those you'd see on BP or CL and as such they will make claims about a girl's age or provide images that say "100% real image" but on several occasions I've been able to recognize those images as crops of well-known celebrity photos with the organization's watermark plastered on top. You can imagine how that diminishes your trust of that listing. In contrast, some listings feel incredibly legitimate. The images don't stand out as fakes and the comments might be full of questions from members and you can see the listing's manager taking the time to respond to them, usually as a private message. Whatever the case, the user reviews are a lot more indicative of the quality of an SP. Some provide details not on a listing such as whether a girl is a smoker, has tattoos or provides other unlisted services.

So finally, I want to make the most of my trip and see if I have what it takes for a shot at the more exclusive side of Seoul's hobby industry. Building a rapport with these girls and their managers is key to gaining more access. If anyone will be in Seoul in November and wants to try their luck at an officetel, let me know! They will rotate girls in and out of the room over the course of your room's time allotment and you can choose a girl or ask for a new rotation.
