Saturday I decided to give a try to Danny's Estetica, mentioned a few posts back.
Address is the one mentioned and name is written outside, so easy to find.
Opening hours are 10 AM to 8. 30 PM Mon to Sat. 10 AM to 3. 30 PM on Sundays.

I pay $100 at an estetica for what might cost me $150 to $200 in an Asian massage parlor in the USA. An attractive escort costs 60% to 100% of the price in Texas. A poke in a good strip club costs more in Guadalajara than Houston, although you do get a bit more privacy and time in GDL. Good restaurants cost about the same as in the small city where I live in the US. I don't know where you're exchanging money, but if it's at banks, which have branches all over the country, it's not going to make any difference whether you're in the north or the south. While I use ATM's, not banks or casas de cambio , at 11.50 to the dollar I know you're getting screwed. I was in Mexico over the weekend and banks were giving around 12.50.

Unfortunately in this case I cannot be useful as this is only second time I visit this city and first time I monger here.
In general I can tell that GDL is a nice city where you can spend at least a couple of days and see its cultural heritage, in case you are interested in sightseeing too.
People are nice, prices are in line with other Mexican destinations (I don't know Tijuana in particular) and cheaper than in other latin-american countries like Brazil or Chile for similar level hotels or restaurants.
As far as exchange rates are concerned, they look same to me at every destination. Honestly, I don't think that going south it gets worst.

Been back at Valentino a couple of times over the past few months. Main reason is that I hooked up with Estrella, and by pure accident.
