Yes I got a receipt / challan. The only English / Latin text on it was "Receipt for payment to government". There was no section number. I can read Devanagari but the writing was so bad I could only tell that they misspelled the initial consonant digraph of my name.

But I doubt if all of the fines collected actually go to government coffers. Smelled a rat due to the last sentence and politely refused to pay until the pics surfaced. Never heard from her again.

And about this fine thing, all the money goes into the cop's pockets. Even if you are caught driving without valid documents the fine is 1200-[ naka bandi]

And as usual the writing is always illegible on the receipts.

For the benefit of all, can you list down history of events that you witnessed during the raid till they released all customers after payment of that so called fine. Also if possible upload scanned copy of the receipt (w / o any personal details if present). This will help all to understand the authenticity of the LE operation and take precautionary measures in advance.
