When I was in the US a few yrs back (I'm in SEA these days) the best time for airfares was right after the holidays, so about now. Not sure if it's still the case.

In Thailand, there's some backlash against Africans and I think its got to do with the fact there's a heck of a lot of scammers and criminal types in that segment. As long as you dress smart and western style, on the conservative side, you should be ok. I visited some spots in BKK with my black stepdad, and he was plenty popular with the girls, no issues at all.

Whats the TEFL travel/housing option? That isn't that English teaching course, is it? Whats TOFTT? I won't say anything about that til I'm sure I know what you mean.

There's some who much prefer Bangkok (I assume we're talking "for girls" here) and others who swear by Pattaya. On a first visit, if long enough, and if that's mainly what you're after, might as well try both and see what floats your boat.

For the most part, the only black people they ever see are a few Nigerian drug dealers who creep around looking really sketchy. Dressing stylishly and acting very gentle and polite will obviously help you out here. Also, you will probably get better treatment if you're with a few white/asian people, as opposed to a group of young black men.

Thai people are very prejudiced against anyone with dark skin, which they associate with being poor, undesirable, etc., which is something you'll have to deal with. Many of them are very obsessed with being as white as possible.

A certain percentage of girls will not want to go with you. But others will have no problem or really want to. Even those that want to may worry about your size hurting them. Many Thai women really do have very small orifices.

There are short time rooms for rent in all the major areas if you need them. Not as much fun but it's doable.

Day trip to Ayuthaya

I had the good fortune to hook up with a non-pro DIA lady who guided me on a day trip to Ayuthaya, the ancient Thai capitol 50 km north of BKK with some Ankor Wat like ruins. I'll focus here on the trip more than the sex. I picked up all expenses which were very reasonable. My Thai lady expected and received no compensation. This was a colorful trip because we went by bus and returned by train. Traveling with the locals was great and showed me a slice of life that I wold have otherwise missed. Admission to each Wat was about 40 for me and free for Thais.

She explained that she last visited Ayuthaya 10 years ago. This was a great adventure for her and an escape from her daily routine. She understands I'm not in the market for a wife, but wants to see me when I return to BKK in a few weeks. I'll probably see her.

Early last year I was at an English language school in Siam Square with a girl who was taking a placement test. One of the teachers and I started BSing.
