Aud dollar
Gday Guys, I'm just curious.
I rang up a local foreign exchange to get some thai baht and was quoted 30. 33 bht to 1 Aud.
No commision. Usually a competitive mob. The rate on the TV was $1. 07 Aud to the US.
How much on the street is the Aussie dollar going for and at the Bangkok Airport.
Thanks for the info in anticipation.
Kirra Dude.
Ps If you know the US dollar on the street and airport that would be good too.
Pps I'm thinkin the Rate is better on the street?

The rate changes daily so the only way to find out if the airport is dearer or cheaper than the street is to do two transactions in the one day, not worth the bother, all the different banks are within a coule satang of each other. Minimal difference, shoe leather is more expensive.

KD.
Hows it going mate? Long time. On walking street there are ATMs everywhere. Opposite the entrance to walking street theres a bank branch you can use if that makes you feel safer. I used a cash card there. Better off not using credit just to be safe IMHO. The rates you get there from the atm is competitive enough. And you can only do 10 000 baht at a time anyway. Not much difference really.
That's like asking if you'll have more fun in Vegas or in Pyongyang.
So what is the answer?
-
So what is the answer?
It is very hard to give an answer because I don't know Pyongyang.

Vegas vs pyongyang
So what is the answer?
To Gwailo,
I can bet you for sure cost of p4p will be much cheaper in Pyongyang and SW will be much younger, but getting there will be hard with a US passport.

I just returned from Thailand and Insomnia has been closed since last Tuesday January night 21st only iBar has been open.
I was in Insomnia recently. Open. Where did you here it was closed. And YES your idea is easily DO-able.
-
Yes Insomnia is closed. Raided by the cops. They will probably need to bribe more to re-open. There have been several police raids in several bars the previous days. It's not sure if the police activity just temporary or if there is an intent to definitely enforce the official closing times in Patts.

The several times it has been raided and reported in the papers it was just that?
