I just got back from Kang Ding Sauna, it was my first sauna experience and definitely a good one.
Got there around 11:30 PM on a Friday night. Wasn't too hard to find with the location card on SNG, alternatively you can add the manager TianTian on WeChat (no English.).
Walked into the lobby, a guy standing there asked me who I was looking for so I said TianTian. He then gave me a locker key and showed me to the shared locker room. Changed into the sauna outfit, met TianTian, and she took me to view the selection. The girls stand in a well-lit room behind a glass wall. There were about 10 X girls and 3 M's, no A's or Q's. I had been looking at TianTian's daily WeChat postings of available models all week in anticipation of coming and thought I'd had my heart set on one particular X girl, almost reserved her ahead of time, but I ended up choosing another X model. All the X's are stunning; like JPopp said earlier, they're the kinda girls you walk by on the street and think "damn, if I could hit that."
After the selection, I was taken into a little sitting room that was playing Furious 7 and I sat awkwardly with my girl for a few minutes before they said our room was ready.
The room itself is pretty spartan, but clean. Just a big bed with fresh towels on it, and a connected wet room with a shower. One wall is a gigantic mirror, which is fantastic for getting another angle of the action and doing your best American Psycho impression.
We stripped down, showered, and then she took me to the bed.

Price is a bit steep, seems like the going rate at a lot of SH sauna's is around 800? This was my first sauna experience, so I don't know if it's worth double the standard, but I'm coming from Beijing and this was definitely worth two MP trips. Those X girls are hot. I have time to go to one more sauna before I head back to Beijing, haven't decided which one yet. Maybe I'll end up going to KD again.

I got there around 8:30 PM on a Saturday night and there were already a good number of people. My manager contact from SNG, Owen, warned me that they were busy and I'd have to wait. Took about a half-hour before I saw the selection and then another half-hour sitting with my girl before a room became available. When I left around 11:00 PM, there were even MORE people just sitting around and waiting. If you go to Jiang Li, you'd better visit during a non-peak hour.
The facility is nice. Nice decor, spacious, clean. They provide you a Red Bull upon entrance.
The selection was more rushed than Kang Ding because there's no fish bowl and I went in there with like 10 other dudes all picking at the same time. There were about 30 girls in the room, pretty evenly distributed between the tiers (7 XX, 8 XX, 9 XX, 0 XX, VXX). Good variety, should be enough for anybody to find a good match, but they weren't stunners across the board like the Kang Ding X-models. Lots of hotties nonetheless. The 0 XX that caught my eye on Owen's WeChat postings wasn't in the lineup, so I chose a 9 XX.
The room I finally got (35) was clean, but it was next to the ladies' dressing room so it got distractedly noisy at times. There's a mirror on the ceiling over the bed but it doesn't offer as great a view as Kang Ding's giant mirror wall.
Service started out in the wet room with a rimjob and nuru massage, both firsts for me. Felt okay, but next time I'll skip it for more smash time. After the nuru, it was off to the bed for the first round of BBBJ and sex. Good stuff, open to multiple positions, although like Kang Ding there was no DFK, and again I'm not sure about DATY because I didn't try it. After first pop, took a breather and she flipped me over for whatever the hell that weird bubbly mouth massage thing is, then a completely worthless back massage. Didn't get anything out of those.
Round two was similar to the first, BBBJ followed by sex. Just like last time, I was pushing rope at the end so we switched to just BBBJ until the phone rang. All in all, I preferred my Kang Ding experience. The Jiang Li girl had a pretty face and hot body, but the KD girl had a gorgeous face and flawless body. Customer service and full service were good at Jiang Li, but KD's was better. Wait time, selection process, location, and room were better at KD too.
But that's not to say Jiang Li was bad, I really enjoyed myself. Hopefully nothing came across as too negative, because I still had a great time and have no regrets checking out Jiang Li. And it has it's merits over KD: more price tiers, longer sessions, no limitation on pops.
Sigh unfortunately I'm heading back to Beijing tomorrow. My two Shanghai sauna visits easily trump anything I've had in Beijing. You brothers staying here have it good. I'll be looking forward to my next trip down here, for sure.

Many saunas now use this way for getting customers. They often deal now with "managers" who best have a good customer base. This manager get a "per capita premia" for each customer who he or she will bring over.
To make their business working, this "managers" get a discount they can offer to their customers. So the discount rate will be for all customers of this manager, but for all guest who not place a reservation by one of their "managers" the sauna will charge the higher rate.
But unfortunately nearly none of the managers is able to speak English and many foreigners not even use wechat, so our challenge was to find a solution, how foreigners can get the discount without place a reservation by phone or wechat.
So we researched to find sauna clubs which agree to give this discount also to foreign guys without Chinese skills who show up there without any reservation.
And the discount card simply show the Chinese text, that you are looking for the manager named XXXX and you are his customer, so that you will get the discount his or her customers would get, even without the requirement to place a reservation forehand.
That's the reason why you did not have any need to show the discount card after you get in touch with Tian Tian there, if you would simply went over without contacting her, you would have paid the higher rate without showing the card and the lower rate with show the discount card.

Her English is decent so easy to communicate, I know we are in it for pussy, but this does make a big difference. She came dressed casually with no visible make up, so no awkward feel walking with her past reception. Had to pick her up from outside because of hotel elevator 'password' requirement.
