Cebu pacific -not onlne, still be careful
Nice chit chat from a CP attendant at Robinsons in Cebu. Weird gal, she wanted to meet my son since her chit chat identified his age. (my son doesn't do fat chicks, BTW).
"Do you have a seat request? ".
X nope, I don't care.
"it's an early morning flight, would't it be nice to have a window seat?
X That sounds nice.
PHP 160 added for seat selection.
Is that dishonest, or is that dishonest?
Hope CBP is happy with their 160 pisos, I'll be checking PA more often. X.
You have to be very careful making an online booking with Cebu Pacific.
They automatically add on quite a number of "add-ons" (sic) and you must methodically go through all of the steps in the booking and remove them one by one.
For example, they automatically charge you a fee for travel insurance UNLESS you click on the "no thanks" box which is very small and difficult to spot. Deduct 250 pesos.
Seats are allocated at booking and you do NOT have to pay for a seat UNLESS you have a seating preference. Different preferred seats cost different amounts. Exit rows are the most expensive. If you dont care where you sit and they have added-on a reserved seat fee then you can remove it.
The default setting for baggage is 20 kgs per person at a designated rate. If you have carry-on bags and don't need to pay for 20 kgs then you must change the baggage to zero and the auto baggage fee is deducted.
I use it mostly for domestic travel within the Philippines and so I have only a small carry-on bag. I have had the initial quote for a budget flight price decrease from 2300 php to 1200 php after I removed all the "add-ons". The fee I paid was comprised almost entirely of admin fees, since I availed myself of the cut-price 1 php fares that they push out periodically.
Most airlines have a web admin fee hidden somewhere in their accounting. Cebu Pacific puts it up there in bold letters.
