carrib, i am not sure about the statute of limitations in brazil, but in my case, charges have been filed, so it does not matter. if i enter brazil 20 years from now, i could be detained. i am in the process of retaining an attorney right now, as i want to have the charges thrown out. i have more than enough evidence to prove my statements about her are true and therefore not slander. but the charges were filed in brazil and she is brazilian and i am not. i doubt i would receive a 100% fair trial there, but i am pushing forward to defend myself anyway. one attorney told me it is possible to have charges dismissed prior to trial, so i am hoping for that. at a minimum, it will cost me $4,000 usd to have investigative work done and a motion filed to dismiss. if that doesn’t work though, it will take a lot more work and money to make this go away. i have spoken with someone at the department of state and he told me (strictly off record) that this is not an offense that would normally be considered grounds for extradition.

i have thought about just blowing this off but i really love brazil and want to continue to travel there. i’ve been in 20 to 25 different countries in asia, europe, africa, south america and central america, but i have never been to a place that i loved so much as brazil. from my first trip there, i fell in love with brazil and it had nothing to do with the gdp’s. my trips there were never about gdp’s. the scenery in brazil is stunning and the people are friendly. i never attempted to learn a foreign language until i went to brazil, and now i can speak portuguese, albeit barely. i can hold a conversation in portuguese and for anyone else that can do the same, you know this makes an enormous difference in how you are accepted there by regular citizens.

the point of my post was that you need to be careful with everything you do in brazil and elsewhere. this may be a hobby to the men who travel there, but it is a business for the gdp’s. while the vast majority of the gdp’s would not go so far as to file charges against you if there ends up being a conflict (or just for the hell of it), anything is possible. this hobby may be like playing russian roulette with a gun that holds 1,000 rounds. many men have written in this forum about problems with gdp’s and the police being summoned. just based on that, i guess the possibility always exists that she could file charges, baseless or not. more than likely though, if you have an issue with the gdp it will be over money and you are more than likely going to have to deal with the favela boys. personally, i’d rather deal with the police.

thanks to all that commented on this, including sperto. i’m not sure it warrants r.o. d. status but i hope it makes everyone think a little about how involved you get with a gdp. i have a friend recently who became involved with one and i tried to tell him to proceed cautiously. although she seemed like a really nice girl, he was spending a lot of money on her too soon into the relationship. he listened but disregarded and sure enough, a few months after he left brazil, she informed him she had become pregnant to another man. he’s a great guy and seemed to shrug it off, but i hope it did not cost him too much $$ or pain. even with all the warnings, there will still be a lot of guys who take the plunge. sure, it’s always possible it could work, but i want encourage everyone to go slowly. again, if you have to spend big bucks to stay in her life, you may be nothing more than a mark. i also wrote about meeting her family. a brazilian girl’s family is sacred; if you have met her family then you are truly part of her life. if not, proceed with extreme caution, because ahead, those ‘curves’ could be dangerous.

i definitely co sign with you about meeting a girls family.if a gdp doesn't invite you to meet her family, i would be extremely cautious.

After reading this, maybe I really should consider giving it a try. I just got laid off from my job and I am headed to Rio for the next couple of months anyway. I should really look into what it takes to open this type of business.

One thing I know for sure, I am sure most Americans would feel more much comfortable dealing with another American instead of a brasilian man. I wouldnt be surprised in the least to find out that a bunch of the brasilian PIs are cutting a side deal (either for money or pussy) from the GDP, they are supposed to be tracking.

Side note. In the past couple of years, I have already helped about 6 different guys with this same problem. Guys from different boards who knew I was headed to brasil, next thing i know, i get a PM asking "Can you tell me if you see this girl in Help or MP". I have probably saved them tens of thousands of dollars by letting them know that their girl is still working .

That is a really interesting comment you and your friend made. I occasionally exchange messages with one of her friends in Brazil. Sometimes I feed this girl info that I know will get back to my perp. I knew this girl had traveled to Italy to work as a prostitute and possibly to other countries in Europe as well. About 4 weeks ago I received a message from someone in the US who said she was ‘working’ in the US and he had seen her. I sent him 10 photos and he came back and said, yep, that’s definitely her. I believe that translates to something like ‘in excess of the truth’ but I’m not sure how it applies in a legal sense.

I have a lot of information I saved from my time with her (obrigado para Dues) that supports my statements that she is a prostitute. I’m not going to write too much here in the event her attorney is a monger and reads this forum! I’ve already told him I have more than enough information to back up my statements about her. I want to clear my name, but if I am not 100% certain I will receive a fair trial, no more trips to Brazil. That honestly would be a great loss in my life. I had a hell of a time navigating a legal website in Portuguese, but I found the document. My Portuguese is what I call ‘conversational’ and I am having to learn new words. The legal document was sent to Interpol on April 6th and I expect to see it soon. But it is just the original court document, which I have already viewed online. I’m sure it is a formality that they have to deliver this and have me acknowledge receipt.

I wrote about me traveling to Rio for my birthday. Well, about 4 days before I flew to Brazil for my b-day, she sent me a message and asked me for money, telling me she "didn’t have even one centavo. " I wired her $1, 000. She flew to Italy the next day.

So, when I tell her I knew she was really in Italy instead of Minas Gerais with her ‘sick’ sister, she waited almost 2 weeks to write to me. When she did, she wrote what appeared to be a sincere apology. She told me she wanted the opportunity to explain what happened. I was still in Rio when she returned and I met with her for about 2 hours. She again apologized profusely and told me she did not want to hurt me and that this Italian guy had offered to help her finish the construction on her mothers house ($10, 000 USD) and that once that was done, she was done with him and out of the biz. She encouraged me to think about our relationship again. I left Brazil and we exchanged messages for maybe 3 or 4 months. I had received a wake up call when I learned she went to Italy and told her I could not have a relationship with a prostitute. She said she understood and wanted to change. Our e-mails went from 1 every 3 or 4 weeks up to maybe 1 every 3 or 4 days. She told me she was giving what I told her a lot of thought. Then she wrote me a message and told me her brother had been severely electrocuted and was in the hospital in need of urgent care. ‘Dumber’ wires her $1, 000 USD. Four days later, she boarded a plane to Italy on her 1 year contract and I never heard from her again. No goodbyes, fuck you's, not a word. Just disappeared.

I know what I did was stupid, no doubt about it. But one person being stupid does not give someone else the right to steal from them.

Mr. Bond I left the door open for the last 20 months for her to talk. I hate what she did to me, but I do not hate her. Believe it or not, I still feel some compassion for the woman. It is easy for Americans to judge actions like this when our economic opportunities are so much better here. Having a difficult life is not a reason to steal from others, but it makes it more understandable why she would do it as everyone wants a better life. I grew up with little money, but I decided to make an honest living. It has taken me a long time to achieve a measure of success, but the opportunities in the US provided a way for me to do that. She didn’t have those same opportunities so she made her own. The prostitution I accept; the theft I do not.

The truth is that up until she filed these criminal charges against me, I would have settled for a sincere apology if it were accompanied by a truthful explanation. If she had offered that, the site would have been shut down. Now with this legal action, it is going to be impossible for me to accept an apology.

I don’t allow people to get too far into my life now, but that can also have a detrimental effect as I spend most of my time alone. But I’m focusing on ‘me’ now and that is a good thing. I was just kind of rolling through life having a great time and now I am focusing on putting money in the bank for my future. Some day I’ll break out of this funk and I’ll at least have some money to enjoy myself with. I just hope I can continue to travel to Rio.

Then you state: "I managed to read her e-mail account..," be aware that reading other person mail (paper or electronic) is a violation of law!

My lawyer says that this girl has nothing against you if this web page is the only thing she can use as proof.

In the remote case she goes to Justice and things go on (very low possibility) his advice is that the first and only thing to do is to claim jurisdiction.

This means that the web page is not stored or hosted on a Brazilian place (something that we are assuming as it doesnt end with .br) so there is no way to determine where the crime, if any, was commited.

If the server where the page is hosted is in the US, your beloved prostitute will need to initiate legal actions in the US.

Also he advised to delete that page ASAP.

I understand your anger and hurt at being played. It happens almost everyone at some point in ways small and large.

It's good to remind others but your website devoted to her is probably what set her off. All she had to do was Google her name and she would find it. And it is still there.

If family or friends happened to Google her name she had some explaining to do about a lifestyle they many not know about.

As it was pointed out in early posts, it not hard to find, even if you don't know her name. And I would follow the earlier advice, and attempt to remove all traces of this from the web.

There is a way to insert hidden ‘keywords’ in your page content for search engines to pick up on when they crawl the web. I didn’t remember inserting anything specific, but I opened the site using the software I made the site with to check out what I did. I had zero keywords for the search engines, so there is nothing I can do to prevent people in ISG from searching for it. The search engines are picking up on words in the site content. I will assume that is what you were implying when you said trace content. This is an unintended development from my posts.

I can see where quite a few people have searched for the page using info gleaned from ISG, including someone in Jacksons neighborhood. Damn you guys are curious. I hope this fades as my posts become more dated.

Once again, Euro100 found one quickly (as did I.) I vacillated about joining in this discussion, but would ultimately agree with Euro100. Taking the website down ASAP would be the wisest course of action-- not because it defames the girl (I don't think that it does), but rather for reasons I don't want to go into here. My guess is that at this point, most everyone who should know about her already does. Those who don't and need to will find out another way, I'm sure.

There are multiple pictures of this woman on the website that D&D made about her. The problem is, it is still hard to ID the girl in question with the pictures posted of her, because in all but one photo she is wearing large sunglasses, and in the other photo she has her eyes closed and doesn't even really look like the woman in the photos with sunglasses. Very odd.

After viewing the website that D&D made, something about this story doesn't seem right, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is.

D&D, you said in your posts here that you "spent" $40k on this woman, but then on your website you say she "robbed" you of $40K, so which is it, did she steal the money from you or did you spend it on her in the form of gifts, house payments, airline tickets, etc??? I don't think volunteering to pay someones bills (as you put it in post #8668) counts as them stealing from you? You even call her a "thief" on the photos section of your website, but again, what did she actually steal from you?? Besides your pride, of course.

After seeing your website, I can't blame her for filing charges against you for slander. Then again, I'm not sure what to believe of your story.
