So I've been searching past posts and can't find an answer to this. I'm hoping those who have deep and current experience at BB can help me, please.

If I bring fresh test results (like the day before I fly to DR) with me from a US lab, is there a potential to find a provider who will allow BBFS? Perhaps for a small propina? Perhaps if I ask the mamasan for "help" finding what I want?

Alternatively, I'll have time to get tested at a local lab, say the same one used by ladies?

If you don't' feel comfortable discussing openly here, I'd appreciate PM's as well.

Thank you.[/QUOTE]It may be possible, but not likely. I would NOT ask the mamasan. They preach safe sex there and get visits by the health department which does tests & education to be safe. Expect BBBJ, but not BBFS at BB. You may ask a chica, but do it privately, not in the open about BBFS.

You won't find anyone to do with the hotel that will condone unprotected sex. However, you may be able to convince a chica, probably with extra money as incentive.

That said, you are taking unnecessary risks for a little short term pleasure.

Aside from the obvious HIV risks, there is also a long list of STDs that YOU might want protection from. Chlamydia, herpes, for example.

It was while I was waiting to check in at Blackbeards and I felt my balls being fondled from behind that I realized I was no longer in Kansas. And the fun has not stopped since. I hope it leads to great things for you.

You have three months to work on your Spanish. Concentrate on the numerals and prices. Start thinking in RD $.

It's somewhat disturbing that all three deaths occurred at properties owned by one company. Add to that the report a week or so earlier of a woman being jumped, beaten and left for dead at another resort, possibly by an unidentified staff member. I'm not surprised by the less than enthusiastic efforts by local authorities. As I understand it, that's just business as usual for the DR's government and LE organizations.

It could be random, targeted, accidental and / or just general crime. The USA media is playing it up, of course.

The thing to remember is that for every tragedy or assault there are 1,000 people who just had a regular vacation. Unless you do something stupid like punch a local or wear a diamond necklace you are probably going to be just fine.

Night security keeps watch to prevent anyone wandering in, theft, etc. The incident with the couple is being investigated, and possible use of drugs / meds after heavy drinking is being looked at. Fluid in lungs? A cinch that they weren't attacked. Costambar is a quiet area. Daylight is zero problem, always spent my nights at the BB compound, no interest in wandering around outside in the dark.

Of course, always be aware of surroundings anywhere. Tourists in a poor country at night are bound to tempt someone. Common sense. Avoid dark isolated areas walking alone, etc, etc.

I am nearly 80. I never could fight and I can no longer run. I walk alone round most of Puerto Plata by day and night (though not past midnight) in tourist areas and also areas where tourists are never seen, and I have never been or felt threatened. However, I do not get drunk, nor do I mouth off deliberately loudly about how I come from a superior race or society to the locals. If you do either of those things, all bets are off.

The deaths you have read about have nothing to do with your situation. They may be suicide pacts, natural causes, domestic disputes or blackmail scams, but they are not random attacks on single male mongers. In fact I cannot remember such a case in the eleven years I have lived here, although my memory is admittedly not what it was.
