I checked out Mermaid, Chateau Kokusai, and AAA this evening. As Asia Nut and several others have already attested to, Mermaid is very gaijin-friendly and has a pretty good reputation for good service. It also helps that I happen to speak Japanese fairly well (the guy standing outside actually waves me in when he sees me walk by).

However, when I walked by Chateau Kokusai this evening, the tout standing outside ignored me.
