The 50's was a golden age for the working man, in spite of three mild recessions, much of which was inherited from Truman and related to the end of the Korean War. You've already acknowledged that recessions typically follow the ending of wars but only Democrats get that benefit in your sloppy, slanted analysis. This was the era of great infrastructure projects, the expansion of social security, increases in the minimum wage, and the creation of HEW which became the department of Health and Human Services. Many bought their first television sets and could afford second cars. Domestic vacations to picturesque places accessed over the highways driving some of the most beautiful cars ever made were routine for the average person. It was a golden age for cinema and music. Inflation and unemployment were low. The list goes on. Of course after all the bluster you can't back down now and save face, but here's an interesting article from the Miller Center, University of VA for the audience, beginning with an excerpt.
"Although mild recessions slowed growth in 1953-1954,1957-1958, and again in 1960, the economy expanded robustly during most of the 1950's. Unemployment was generally low, and inflation usually was 2 percent or less. Indeed, Eisenhower's record of strong growth and low inflation was better than that of any other post-World War II President. Although Old Guard conservatives pressed Eisenhower to cut taxes, the President gave a higher priority to balancing the budget. Eisenhower had moderate successthree of his eight budgets were in the black. Wage earners enjoyed a prosperous decade: During the Eisenhower presidency, personal income increased by 45 percent. Many families used their purchasing power to buy new houses, frequently in suburban developments. Consumers also used their income to acquire many new household items, including television sets and high-fidelity equipment. A few families even made their purchases by using the first charge cards from Diners Club and American Express. ".

I guess after Hoover's Great Repub Depression and Eisenhower's THREE Recessions (two of which came well after the Korean Conflict took a break and before Eisenhower's Vietnam War was in full swing), the ordinary working man was kinda' fed up with the Repub brand of gold mining.
And the construction of the Interstate Highway System, which did create jobs and improved national commerce considerably, was FDR's baby (and Truman's), not Eisenhower's:
Interstate Highway System - The Myths
Myth:
President Eisenhower conceived the Interstate System
The Interstate System was first described in a Bureau of Public Roads report to Congress, Toll Roads and Free Roads, in 1939. It was authorized for designation by the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1944, with the initial designations in 1947 and completed in 1955 under the 40,000-mile limitation imposed by the 1944 Act. President Eisenhower didnt conceive the Interstate System, but his support led to enactment of the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956, which established the program for funding and building it.
No Repub or Repub administration has ever conceived of, proposed and initiated a project that good for the working man and America. In any era, they would have been "cancelled" out of the Repub Party if they had.
What's this, an Orange Banana Republic?
Why do the many leftist activist-"journalists" and politicians not owe millions to Donald Trump for their Russia hoax lies?
Why do the many crack-pot right-wing, QAnon nut-job politicians and pseudo media hosts/anchors posing as journalists on right-wing media outlets like Foxy News, not owe hundreds of millions to Americans for their countless lies, falsehoods, fabrications and untruths?
Last I checked, there were domestic terrorists, armed rioters with pipe bombs, armed white supremacist groups, guns at the ready, right-wing militias, 'ranger file' ex-military style attacks on The Capital and the death of 5 capital police officers and hundreds injured. Not to mention the trail of destruction on gov't property, looting, broken glass, loss of historical antique furniture and who can forget the "P1ss" and "human faeces".
Rather like asking why people who walked through the Capitol have been being tortured in solitary for a year and a half, while violent rioters who burned and looted cities got bail then had charges dropped.
Yeah, I know, right! Kind of like those protesters, just walking, singing and protesting peacefully...and then BAM! They're in handcuffs, kicked, beaten, blooded, hospitalized and tortured by police, left to rot in jail and often can't afford bail. Peaceful protesters, rotting away, while we've now come to find out, it was white supremacist agitators who were instigating the looting and burning, all along.
Oh, brother Chris P, I see your injustice, so clearly now.
Last I checked, initially anyways, there were dozens of Jan 6th rioters, getting little to no jail time and let go on supervision or their own recognizance. Personally I thought the Jan 6th terrorists and rioters got-off rather lightly for their acts of sedition.
Selective, biased law enforcement and judiciary is a sure sign of a banana republic which will not last.
So only now is it "selective, biased" LE and judiciary? But when exacted up "violent rioters who burned and looted cities", it's ALL GOOD?
Well I'm sure you've got your "exit the USA, stage-left ticket" all ready to go? But check your rear-view, as this "banana republic" thanks to Agent Orange, QAnon/Repubs nut-jobs and a moraless right-wing SCOTUS bent on taking us back to the dark-ages, just may have your pending doom, seem closer than it appears.
