Real-estate in Cluj-Napoca city center is more expensive than the city centers of Orlando, Baltimore, Las Vegas when comparing price per square meter. So depending on the city you come from, the Americans can also start claiming they too come from a "poor country".

It is very cheap to live in those places if you live like normal local people there which is very limited living quality and often hygene and safety level are very low etc.
If you want to live so called more civilized life like in G5 nations in those country, then it will most likely cost you not just same price, but usually even much more than G5 nations.
Those nations are different mindset, winner take all money and leave nothing for poor or even middle class, so things like safety, secure living, hygiene, clean water etc are at your request upon ripped off premium price, like everything in those nations got price tag. Even police can be bought. I mean the system do not functions there but money. Sad cultures and system that is but that is the reality and that is why these nations never will excel.

In those developing nations, if you live in local standard, it is very cheap, but if you want to live in more civilized standard like more clean, better clean food, better waters, iPhone as you say will cost you more than G5 nations, they put premium prices on everything, more than g5 nations. An interesting this is how pumped up the housing prices are in a city like cluj napoca compared to say jacksonville, Florida. That price comparison is quite insane on so many levels, from fertility rate and expected population growth / decline to average income per family and city living standards or hdi.
It probably just shows how much money there is in prostitution in Europe. And Cluj napoca may just be a true hotspot for talent.
