Got back from Medellin a week ago. I went April 27-30. I rate the trip a '4' for the reasons I will describe below. However, lets start with the positives.
Fun guy Matt from Alaska arrived throwing money like the oil pumping on the rig he works on! The problem was every time I took my eye off him he would report back to me the next day that his computer and phones had been stolen! This happened three different times mostly with descent amounts of money. However the guy had a great attitude and would say I'm here to party (get wasted) and have fun and I will make it all back in a day or two when I get back to Alaska, lets roll! We did a lot of street walking and found one working as a waitress at parque san Antonio next to the exito in centro and after she got off she took care of him in a good way and did not take anything. One other one we found was on that corner below Botero park with tons of street girls. Great body and enjoyed walking around in just her underwear bottoms back at the apartment. Matt didn't speak spanish so negotiating these deals and having a buddy to party with was why I was needed and happy to help. Helping you guys who come down is a blast as long as there is enough time in between for me to make it fun again. Matt is returning at the end of this month so that perfect.
A bachelor party of 5 guys from Chicago left today and they were more interested in strip clubs and partying! Spend most of the time in centro hitting all the clubs and that was the price range 60, 000 to 70, 000 they wanted so a lot of fun was had. One session at abydos to get the higher level experience and one night in Lleras to watch the mayweather boxing match at hooters. Once again not a lot of spanish and to trying to find these clubs in centro on a 4 night trip was not what they wanted to spend there time of effort on so I was happy to help once again so look me up if your coming this way.
Thanks Colombia Jake
. -The women aren't so welcoming. We would walk down the street and say Hola! Many times they would keep walking or hold their head down. As many have said before, Medelliners party in groups. They mix when they know someone else in another group. Don't go here thinking you are going to be treated as KING JOFFIE JOFFA. In DR, women come up to you constantly and you are treated like royalty. Don't expect the same in Medellin as this is not a buffet. You can't get whatever you want. I struck conversation with a few top notchers and after a few lines, I let them know I wanted them and asked how much. They kindly rejected my offer. I think the reasoning is that they are not an impoverished city like Puerto Plata. The city is of the likes of Chicago and Newark, NJ. So no, every woman is not a prepago .
Oh boy, I wish I could've been a fly on your shoulder and watched the scene with one of these regular girl "top notchers" you struck a conversation with:
"hola baby, como estas?"
"Yo y mi amigo, Vinnie, think tu eres muy beautiful"
"nos gusta mucho your nice tetas and ass"
"how 'bout 100, 000 pesos for ya, for a couple horas en mi cama?"
Just adding to the growing attitude towards gringos in Colombia. The Secret Service gang, and the boys from Jersey, etc.
The DR is definitely a better fit.

Have one of their novios Step to you.
And gringos wonder why their not so kindly received in Medellin ANYMORE. It's clueless attitudes and insinuations like this.
"No Le Pare Bolas a este Pollo Sonso"
-Get to the airport 3 hours before your flight. Their screening process is exhaustive and time consuming. Never seen anything like it. They check you twice and if you bring a carry on, they dump the entire thing to cipher through it. And then they ask crazy questions. Why do you have these condoms, how many did you start with. I'm like cmon man, are you a private investigator .
Wow, I've been visiting Colombia for over 10 years and have never had an event like that in the airport.

The looks from locals in Medellin have gone from, 'wow it's a gringo, how cool! ' to now 'mira, another sex starved, predator gringo cabron'.
At least until you show them you are respectfull towards them.
Nothing wrong with having fun at all, but keep it where it belongs and treat the locals with respect.
Is it that difficult?
Back for my two tours a month report! Fun guy Matt from Alaska arrived throwing money like the oil pumping on the rig he works on! (SECURITY)
Just more putas getting the word out and realizing that gringos are bobos and are easy targets. Get them drunk, drug them, steal from them with no repercussions. They have more where it came from, They'll replace it..
MiamiHeat etc. And if he (Jake) offered say 1,000,000 pesos in lieu of 100k some of the said non-pros might have been all over him like a rash.
Then again a less direct more respectful approach plus the Millsky pesos would be a better approach IMHO.
Still you never never know unless you give it a go

I am surprised they didn't slap you silly. Nice report but next time please take the time to read the forum, learn some etiquette, or hire a damn guide. If I misinterpreted the above statement I apologize, unfortunately I think I am dead on.
