Searching this thread shows that it seems to be a very poorly understood situation. People quoting 16,17, and 18 with links to various websites. I'm just going to try to stuff these worms back into the can and carry on.
Before you stuff yourself back in the can along with them, have a look and see what is age of consent of whatever authority issued the passsport you are travelling with.

Atrium Plaza
Had a laugh with a friend who said she refuses to go there anymore after being propositioned twice, once when getting money from the ATM and once while waiting for her sister who was doing the clothes trying on thing in the shops. She said she sat down outside the shop on a bench and a gentleman sat down next to her and inquired " bayar berapa neng" "how much miss". When the penny dropped what he meant she was really pissed and called security but the security guy just laughed and explained to her the previously unknown workings of Atrium Mall to her. She said that the security will for a small fee, assist in the matchmaking by approaching the apple of your eye for you. Should you not be as brave as the aforementioned gentleman.

That one doesn't work well. Good to know security will help. He is there every day so he should be able to recommend the hottest chicks. I bet he has a few numbers in his cell phone.
You and one other guy talking about being charged with kidnapping under 21.
Well, that other guy is right. Full legal age to have sex in Indonesia is 21. Period.
It is a dodgy question you have in the first place. If you get caught out, you can forget about your "age of consent" story. You are having sex with a minor. Parents give consent, minors can not.

I think you are making assumptions about a situation which you know nothing about.
There is nothing dodgy about making sure one understands the local laws, especially one where in this very forum there are many different answers to the same question.
There is nothing dodgy about making sure one understands the local laws
Why am I wasting my time with an obtuse poster? I just explained the local laws to you, my friend.

Welcome to my ignore list fuckwit.

Age of consent
You'll have to work Google a little harder. The search button on this thread may work as well.
The Shooter's mediocre Googling skills have come up with:
Age of Majority is 21; Age of Consent for females is 16 (sources Wikipedia, ChildSafe International, Family Online Safety Institute).
There was an informative post in 2013 by Cooldoe:
Age of consent is 18 according Hukum Perlindungan Anak, but full fledged legal age is 21.
Before 21 the parent can still sue you on behalf of the girl for kidnapping.
Unless you got caught red handed or she stay with your for couple of days, usually not a big deal in Indonesia.
If you got caught, the main concern is the parents.
All a bit murky. Best to stick with the MILFs!
Best to stick with the MILFs!
Just to be safe, my new policy is to never go to bed with a lady under 60 years old. That should solve the problem.
Just to be safe, my new policy is to never go to bed with a lady under 60 years old. That should solve the problem.
Afraid that can still be a problem, as you need to be married to them to have sex without repercussions under adat law.
I attended a seminar on this topic some time ago, and the concensus was you can only have sex with a girl under 21 if you are married to them. Either nikah or kawin siri will suffice. Some forms of marraige can last 6 hours I believe, which is something available in the puncak which deserves more reports on this forum.
There is an old colonial joke when a girl asks if you are married (usually pronounced marret) you should say "kawin sering nikah belum".
The other option for cegee is for "his friend" to consider having sex with Indonesia's 3rd legal defined sexuality. Not male, not female, but something in between and over 21 of course.

Come to town for a month, marry a girl in the kampung and shag her silly for that month, then go home leaving the girl with nothing (except maybe a baby to take care of on her own for the rest of her life). I always thought it was just a scam to end up paying as little as possible for sex while in Indonesia. (I still do think that.) That seems FAR more unethical than paying the girl a fair amount of money for services rendered.

But it does explain why you meet so many Sundanese girls in CJs of Arab origin or looks. All these girls have the same old story that their Dad died in a car crash.

Over 60 years of age. Well, if it is someone like Marion Bloem, she is 62, I would be tempted.
( Link is not working, please find attached.)
Thanks for digging that Cooldoe post up, it is how I understood it as well and agrees what UsPete is writing down below.
