I have never seen such a massive crack down. These many spas closed and SPs underground for almost a month. LE would have got much more in total of these spas and SP were functional in the past month.

Secondly election is not something new, we witnessed state election last year but minimal impact.

Point is driving force is something else which we don't know.

It needs huge monetary backing. These are mostly done by political parties who get good support, if you know what I mean.

As of now, the theory about elections being the reason makes the most sense. But are these raids happening only in Bangalore? What about other states or other cities in Karnataka? Even if it's happening only in Bangalore it still makes sense because this is probably one of the biggest cities ruled by the central opposition. They probably want to leverage their power for collecting funds for the election, while also portraying themselves as "women saviours", which is a primary campaigning technique these days.
