A propos of this whole recent discussion, I'm sitting here sweltering with 5-600 others, in an un-airconditioned terminal in Davao. The plane to Manila has been here for over an hour, but we can't board because of "air traffic congestion in Manila. " So, it will have taken me about the same time today to get from Davao to Manila as it would to fly from New York to London, both cities with real airports and working ground equipment. I guess the old joke is ever more true: the only reason the Philippines remains a third world country is because there's no fourth world category".

Can we move on to another subject this thread is become a NAIA forum, we all know that NAIA is the worst international airport in the world thank the Philippines government it will not change that any time soon.

Also I read somewhere that the baggage weight limit to caticlan (Boracay) was increased from 10 kilos to 20 kilos. Can anyone confirm this? My flights would be on Cebu Pacific, are they generally good going to / from Cebu? I am not planning any tight connections, just want to know if this experience will be better than going through manila.

Thanks.[/QUOTE]Cebu beeing the country's second largest airport and extremely lot smaller than Naia is the first difference. Going from Cebu to another domestic destination would probably be less hazzle as the airspace and airport would not be so conguested as Naia's. Catlican airport differ again greatly from the two mentioned airports as it is a very small airport (can only take down STOL aircraft, mostly props. Only daylight landings and it is very exposed to weather (windy conditions, heavy rains etc etv). Flight easily get cancelled to and from Catlican. To be on the safer side choose Kalibo as they can handle bigger jets, also nighttime. Most things in this world will be better than go through Naia from any reasons. You can check in luggage up to 20 kg. Only Cebu Pacific and Phil Air serve Catlican from Cebu and Manila.

Just a question to anyone who's been to both Subic and Puerto Galera. I been to Subic a few times and loved it. We are planning on a trip to Puerto Galera and just want to know if the nightlife bar scene in Puerto Galera is comparable to Subic? Thanks, FB.

This was in the Philstar today. Many have spoken about the need for insurance especially if you live in he country. This seems to agree (maybe). The top country at the top of the list also surprised me BTW.

However, the setting (beach) is much nicer in Puerto Galera.

If one does not like Subic -just take a short bus ride back to Angeles City.
