I would describe this place as more a bar with chicas and rooms then I would a club. No cover the two times I went. Once at 3 pm (Wed) the other at 9 pm (Thur). You enter downstairs and ask the attendant for a slip a paper that they use to mark your purchases, including the girl. You tally up when you leave and pay here as well. The blonde lady I spoke to both days speaks some English. The owner is a chubby dude that was very welcoming to me and checked on me several times each visit. This is not a pretentious type of place. More like a local hangout vibe where you can enjoy your drink with a pretty girl and if you want it to go further rooms are downstairs. During the day, I saw the girls do presentations downstairs but not during the night. Both times I dressed in shorts and sandals and did not feel out of place.

Truth be told, I enjoy this type of place much more than the clubs with large selection of ladies. Just scanning the room I could immediately see 5 to 7 girls that were doable for me. With a smaller selection you don't feel the need to see every single girl before deciding. I could pretty much see all of them before taking 2 sips of my beer. I wrote about Chanes 57 a couple of months ago, when I last took a visitor to a tour there. Since there were only 03 girls available we skipped the place and next day went to Espacio Vergueiro, also a bar with garotas, where the selection was 15 girls.

I will do another visit to Chanes 57, I like the atmosphere if they are add more garotas to the team than the place will be ok for me. As I'm a non-drinker, girls count the most.

GF.[/QUOTE]Good report. Chanes was written about by me and others. Initially some people were put off because originally there was a cover charge of 60 reais in consumption but seems to be passed. Also, there were times when the number of girls was low, like 5. I wrote that it is a good late night option, in particular if you go with a wingman because then there is someone to chat with.

This club is sort of a hybrid between a clinica (rooms) and prive (small bar and lounge). I guess one could call it a big prive or small club. Anyway, there are not many of this type. I think ABG has mentioned Espaco Vergeiro as another. The big limiter here is that guys who want to maximize their selection choices will probably prefer the big clubs like Scandalo and Casarao during a short visit. Guys who are here longer should check out Chanes. Its also always possible to go to Chanes early and then leave for Casarao for example at midnight.

To SP newbs: just got into SP and while I've been here before, it's my first time doing it myself. So am using ABG's guide services!

Quick thing to note:. Airport money changers at most airports are big scams, but the one at SP airport is especially bad. So if you have to change money at airport, recommend only changing enough to get you to a better money changer. Also, despite what I was told by several people in airport, o was unable to find any store selling sim cards.

Since that thread is dead and some of you may do both cities, as I have, during your trip to S. America I want to share some tips I think will be helpful.

The action is mostly incall but there are a few spots near Recoleta Cementary. Two bars, one called Dean & Dennys is an outside bar, girls hang at the tables waiting for you to invite for a drink. I stayed away from any that asked for more.

Food I was not really impressed with, mostly american fast food, empanada places, pizza (only select varieties), lite-fare cafes, churipan (hot dogs with sausage rather than wieners), steak houses but do some homework on the cuts because they have there own varieties (ojo de befe) and how they described the cooking method (jugoso, punto, etc).

Its a interesting city, with its own style. I found it more European but with less diversity than you find in Europe. Mongering is there and the service is good. I'm not sure I would go back.

Final note, the Spanish they speak is definitely different. They pronounce the double L "ll" like a shhh sound. So calle will sound like the English word "cache". Llamar like Shhmar. Very wierd but when in Rome.

Thoughts on Scandallo vs. Bomboa vs. Bahamas Hotel Club? Any major differences between these? I'm going to be in SP for just a couple nights (Friday / Saturday / Sunday) so wondering which is best to check out during the weekend and if there's anything special that differentiates them from each other. Heard Scandallo and Bomboa are less busy on the weekends, but can't be helped since I'm not there during the week. Also heard Bahamas Hotel does lingerie days on Sunday, any more info on that?

It will be at the window to your left as you enter. Today is a holiday, so slim pickings. Only 5 girls, two I liked and chose my first morena of the trip. Nice natural boobs and tall, slender, English was passable. The rooms are bigger than Chanes 57, with bed, shower and air, they are downstairs. The beers are only R10 but the chica drinks are R35, no cover. It rained hard today so stayed here until is lightened up. During the World Cup, there were some boots who sold SIM cards to tourists but now, to my knowledge, the only place where you can buy them is TIM of Rua Barão de Itapetininga. Ore have some Brazilian friend buy one for you.

Does anybody have another idea?

From my observations, most of the ladies will entertain you for a short time and move on if you do not commit to further services. Does anybody have another idea?[/QUOTE]In the past, I have bought one at the TIM shop on Avenida Paulista. It was a bit more money than just buying it from a kiosk, but obviously a must have now days. There was also more process with registering your passport, etc.

With government efforts to combat drug trafficking and other major crime, getting a SIM card in many countries has become more of a hassle. To make matters worse, the laws seem to be very fluid in many countries.
