What would be the best place to exchange my yen for pesos? Hotel? Airport bank exchange?

Regular Phil bank? Currency exchange?

The exchange places give the best rate, the hotels the worst. Nevertheless, if you need money on the first day, use the airport exchange places. You need to pay taxi fare, and some hotels will ask for a "deposit", and if it is a late arrival, you don't want to be looking for an open money exchange.

The Ermita and Malate money exchange places stay open fairly late. I'm guessing the Burgos area has similar places. You didn't give us an arrival time / nor final destination in MM.

Just an observation, but the money changers seem to hedge their bets by putting exchange rates in their favor late Friday. And it lasts thru the weekend when money markets are closed. Cash up before weekends to save a few bucks on the exchange rate.

Its not a joke, but nobody's going to jail. Who will the girl complain to? The police, who will tell her they cannot prosecute someone who is no longer in the country, and even if he was, there is no proof that he took the pictures, nor any proof that the guy who took the pics is the same one (Sir Lance) who posted them online. What will she ask the authorities to do – wait around the Manila airport awaiting the next arrival of Lance? It might be relevant if the girl a) found the pics online that were taken recently, and be) could direct the authorities to that person before he left town. That way they might be able to threaten / extort some money from him.
