His rates seem reasonable to me. Especially if it keeps you away from the touts. I'd rather pay 800 rmb for a tour vs thousands of dollars for getting ripped off.

Thanks in advance for any tips.[/QUOTE]Except the saunas, Shanghai is relatively expensive compared to other Asian locales. Escorts, including SNL's escorts, are somewhat overpriced for what you get. Massage parlors are ok, but girl will generally not bee super-hot. Manhattan / Judy's are not too bad if you're OK with $200ST, $300 overnite. However, I personally believe saunas are where Shanghai shines. What you get for $120-200 even compares somewhat favorably to Thailand or Macao. It's the girls who can no longer work in saunas who turn to escorting or massage parlors.

I am sure something can be tailored to what you are looking for.
Or if you have more than one in your party, that may help with the costs.
As I said, for someone that doesn't know shanghai, it is still cheap insurance.

Thanks Sam. I'm fortunate in that money isn't really an issue. It's more that I just don't feel comfortable going places where I can't even fake the language. Western Europe and Latin America are fine, but I never feel like more of a foreigner than when I'm in Asia. I have lots of organized outings and meetings as part of the trip, but during my downtime I really think I just want someone in my room as a companion so I'm not alone. As I mentioned before, ideally I'd be able to ring someone like Jackson or Steven and they would send someone for dinner and downtime.

I guess it's somehow been about a year between my first and second visit to kangding. I wrote an extremely positive review the first time, unfortunately the second visit was not nearly as good of an experience.
I went there around 10:30 or 11 pm on last Friday, so I really can't complain about either the selection or wait. The wait for a room was no more than 15 minutes and I think had we waited another 10 or 15 minutes, the selection would have been better as well. However, that's where the positive experience ended. Last time, my room was nothing short of spacious, with a large wet area and plenty of room around the bed. Also very clean. The large wet area was actually a waste as I had selected an X girl, so all we did was shower. This time, I selected an M girl, but the room was quite literally shit. Absolutely no better than Red house (for the record, I deleted Jimmy's contact information the moment I left the red house). It was dirty, tiny and dirty.
Since Friday, something interesting has happened. I picked up a STD. For clarity, I don't blame KD at all, it could happen anytime you receive BBBJ, but from a timing point of view, I am 99% certain it happened there. I contacted the SNG contact for KD (she is my contact) with the sole purpose of giving her a heads up that this girl needs to see a doctor. I was very non-confrontational, however I am 100% certain she is not going to do anything about it at all.
It is for this reason I will never again return there. I would expect there to be some interest in customer wellbeing, but I guess not so. Not sure if I should post her number or not, I will leave it up to the people on this forum. If the popular opinion is yes, no problem. I remember her.

A mamasan can expect to be sentenced to jail for 8 to 12 years, even the cashier or waiter can expect 2 years, so it's understandable that many people around getting very nervous, and as long as it will not be clear why that action has been started, it's hard for all to calculate the risk if it will go on like that or if it was only an exception.

This sauna clubs have a high interest in avoid getting known as a STD spreading place. That will bring you down form a million dollar business to get bankrupt in less than 2 month. So there is normally a rule that if there is any. Even small doubt. A girls will get banned immediately and she will not serve any client before she can show an actual health check result.
So I would guess you had a communication issue with the manager. They need to take the serious feedback seriously and same time not get busted out by the high number of hypochondriac guys around.
Sounds strange, but also our hotline or page chat has often guys who expect us to send a escort girl or even a sauna girl to a health check and send them the result, because they are totally sure they caught a STD.
I had a discussion last weeks with a guy who still want to see a health test of a girl he meet in June. And he contact me from US several times a month and my idea, that he do his own health test now, which should cover the problem even more useful for him still not prevent him from asking for her health check. Which by the way was without any problem 3 weeks ago, but the guy don't believe the Chinese hospital and want us to send her to a foreign place and repeat the test.
That doesn't mean in any way that I want to say you acted like a hypochondriac, my idea is that because of some communication issue she accidentally will have put you in the wrong direction. But perhaps you could send me a e-mail or private message with her working number, because I totally agree with you that she should have to go to a check and treatment immediately.
That girls can serve up to 5 guys a day and if you met her just after her monthly test, there can still be 20 days more before she need to check again. So another 100 guys she could bring in trouble. And I know a guy who is divorced now, because he could not really explain where he got the STD (a small sauna near Zong Shang Park) which he forwarded to his wife before he got informed about it for himself. So lucky for all of us who not get problems yet and hope it will go on like that for most of us.

Are you absolutely certain it was the KD girl? You don't mention which STD, but incubation periods for chlamydia is 1-3 weeks, syphilis 10-90 days, scabies 1-2 months, hep be 4-6 weeks, mono 2 weeks-6 months. Genital warts, genital herpes or gonorrhea can appear with a few days, but often take longer. Needless to say, if it was one of the latter 3, it's a good idea to have SNG reach out to their contact.
Had a good 1st visit to the Jiang Li Sauna. Just a few notes to add to what's already on the board:
- It's a pretty long haul to get there. If you metro it to QiBao on line 9, it's a long walk along QiBao Rd until the shopping center it's located on, maybe 25 minutes or so. I recommend a cab from the metro station, unless you really like to walk. When you get to the 108 Sq Shopping Center, it's around the side. No need to enter the main mall, just keep going around the building.
- When I showed up, I didn't automatically get in without naming Owen (the SNL contact). Then they let me in and I rode up to the 5th floor reception.
- Very classy compared to the downtown saunas. Somewhat over-the-top opulence.
- Quality of models quite good. Even at the lowest 780 level, there were some very doable models. At the 3rd level up, 1180 for 90 min, I was pretty blown away by the beauty.
- I miss the fishbowls of Thailand. With these line-ups, a lot of pressure to pick fast, which the Chinese guys do. I like to look over the options more carefully, but that's me.
- I'm not sure whether or not Owen is actually one individual, or just a way the sauna deals with foreigners.
- I don't really like he hassle of getting out there. It would make it more worth it if SNL could negotiate a discount.
- All in all, a great place, very sanitary, with 1st class talent. Hats off again to SNL for showing the way. It's these saunas that keep me happy in Shanghai without needing trips to Macao or Bangkok.
