Lets get the facts correct here. Both Victoria and Queensland have legal brothels that are government licensed and controlled. But these tend to be high roller establishments and are often situated close to casinos for the convenience of the punters. They tend to be expensive and the service can be pretty mechanical.

These places do not get much discussion since the forummers tend to be more interested in the clandestine stuff at places that masquerade as massage parlours. I suppose the hope is that the occasional gem can be found amongst the fodder.

A few years ago I visited Sydney and was directed by a bartender to a stretch of Williams Street near Darlinghurst where street prostitution was, if not legal, at least tolerated. There were even a few rooming houses nearby where SWs could take their guests. I actually met two different women over the course of several days who were new to the business and in need of cash. The premises seem to have changed hands numerous times in the last couple of years (from Mistys to Misstiques to Players International), partly due to a hostile campaign from local yuppies and the next-door girls school. Bliss (104 Crown Street) was definitely the nicest establishment. Players had a $10 discount in July when I saw Clavelle, but I'm not sure if that still applies. Btw, I did also notice that Sirs (80 Erskine Street) had "July specials".
