Thanks
Thanks for the update.
Hopefully it will be settled without violence and then there can be a fanfare when the skytrain opens at the airport.
...The red shirt leaders have announced yesterday to rally on other sides of Bangkoks central business district, too, such as Silom Road, Sathon Road and Suriwong Road. This has NOT happened yet.
... The mood right now here in Bangkok is shifting, because with blocking this central intersection there is a major impact on business and traffic - clearly realized by most Bangkokians.
Soi Nana, lower Sukhumvit, Soi Cowboy - business as usual.
The way from and to the airport is free, but controlled by police and army - there are smaller traffic jams in both ways. Plan a bit more time when going to the airport.
Moving in Bangkok - try to use the Skytrain, then you will not encounter any problem. If you use a taxi coming from Sukhumvit avoid the area starting at Soi 1 towards Chidlom - major traffic jam there. Petchaburi Road towards Pratunam - avoid, not easy to get to Panthip right now. If you go from the the lower Sukumvit area to Patpong avoid all the demonstration area by going via Asoke / Rama 3.
I expect a bit of an escalation in the next few days. The government tries to get arrest warrents against the red-shirt leaders, the demonstration at Rajprasong intersection is basically illegal.
Nice reply 11 Bravo!
No, but I thought I heard that with your 2000th post, you get a free isg t-shirt. Have I been misinformed?
I just never found that the "put them in their place" attitude was right for me. I've never felt that I needed to push someone down to feel superior.
I've always used "repeat business" as a satisfaction indicator. You know, the carrot, rather than the stick.
Big butterfly? Please. That's 500 posts (simple butterfly is 250). At a 1000, it's Helicopter. Above 1500, SkyLab.
My ball size is just fine, thank you, but thanks for asking.
Now my heart, that's a different matter. I'm thinking that IF the Buddhists are right, I'm trying to have as big a heart as possible so I have hopes of coming back as something as high as an ant next life, my goal anyway. That khun ji de and all.
I don't hide what I do, but I don't need to flaunt it either. No need to state the obvious. Damn, I'm very comfortable with myself. Thanks for reconfirming that.
I'm sure that with you, they are very aware of that fact. As with me, but perhaps in a slightly different way. If I do come back as a bar girl next life, I'll let you know for sure.
Cheers.
The shytrain down Suk still only goes to On Nut, , it will go to Bang Na someday, (2009 Kings birthday ! ) there it will meet the airport link but you will still have to drag your suitcases between the 2 and thats not going to be easy,
And unless they change the operating times of the BTS it will not be working when Americans usually arrive at Midnight-1am or depart in the early morning,
Just give yourself enough extra time, the taxi driver will get you there....
Can not agree with you more than that.
I have been to Bangkok many times and have found that most of good talent is not working in Singapore.
NEP is gone downhill and very few girls. Not willing for long time.
Been here for 24 hrs now and have been rocking with beer garden soi 7. Have to use my experience an dpeople skills to filter. Average price is 1000 ST and anything over is upto you if she is looker and hot. I always do a deal on 900 and promise tip minimum 100. That way I am sort of putting a cap at 1000 but can go more if she puts in all effort.
Most of the girls in Beer Garden are not LT as they all either work on ST all day or come there after work. So do not attempt to even try LT.
Past experience. LT has translated to following; Drunk and useless, tired and sleepy, do a runner as have got baby at home etc. Only one time a sucess story of LT as she was new to BK from Esan, however no english. Only sign language.
All in all report for this trip so far.
BG. Chick works in a T shirt packing 1000 ST. A little cold in bed but tight and kinda fresh.
Street Walker. Kenyan chick. 1000 ST + 100 TIP as she was great. Lovely chick and did put in best efforts to earn another 100. Must say I slept well after she was gone.
BG. Very hot chick I have noticed her since may last trip in Dec 2008, Hot, looker and beautiful. Service was okay. 1000 ST
BG. A very sweet chick best service so far. Passionate BBBJ, DATY etc etc 1200 ST.
Will post more tommrow.

Songkran Holiday
As an update, many oily massage places around Sukhumvit are shutting down soon for the holidays as the girls go home for Thai New Year.
Around the 12th April to 16th April period many will be shut, re-opening on the 17th.
Asking a few bar girls and girls in the BG etc.. and they all say they are going home around the 10th for a couple of weeks.
I would suggest therefore from the 10th April the number of freelancers is going to slide down and then the massage places shut down and bar girls go home too.
All in all as far as Bangkok goes I would suggest its an avoid for mongering for at least a week, 10th to 17th April as your choices are going to be very limited.

I hope she means family business as in it is owned and operated by a family, rather than it's a great place to take the kiddies. ;)

Went into Baccara last night. For my money the hottest girls on the soi are in here. There are hot girls in Tilac as well but they don't take their tops off for some insane reason. Anyway there's a girl who dances upstairs in Baccara who I've been wanting to fuck for about 2 years. She's got long curly hair now, perfect tits, big eyes, and usually dances in the corner. She's obviously the star. Problem is that she's always with someone and tonight was no different. Oh well. This other young cutie sat next to me - short with big perky tits. She immediately wants a drink and before the drink even arrives she wants me to barfine her. 600 + 2000 ST. 2000 is an insane price, even for this bar. She can see my hesitation and leaves. I decide to give Nana a go.
I walk into Spanky's. Again this is one of my favorite bars because the girls are really cute. A girl named Boo sits next to me. After chatting for a bit, she wants me to barfine her. 600 barfine and she asks for 2000 ST. I say no way I only ever pay 1000. She counters with 1100 and I say okay. We go into the short time room upstairs (300 baht). She's even hotter than she looked in the bar. She's a lovely girl but her fake moans are quite annoying. Great fuck though and great DFK as well. BJ was fantastic. Paid her 1100 after that (I never tip) and she seemed happy enough. Total damage - 600 BF + 300 drinks + 1100 + 300 room = 2300 baht. Still a bit expensive for me but oh well. You only live once. Still hoping to shag that Baccara girl....I do find that the girls will pay more attention to you on a weekday - the bars weren't nearly as packed as they were on Friday/Saturday.
Things are escalating today, be careful out there, avoid all the area around the Rajprasong intersection, Childlom, Siam Square.
The red shirt leaders will try to move the demonstrations to 11 restricted roads today (Sathon, Silom, Suriwong, Asoke etc.), and the government is in the dilemma whether to allow that or to use force to stop the red shirts from moving there.
UDD security guards were already sent to intersections at Prathunam, Ploenchit, Pathumwan and Chidlom areas to confront police and troops.
Obviously some red shirt groups are already in Asoke or on their way to the house of the prime minister (Soi 31) - I can hear them from here (Soi 33).

Silom Road -- Today
Things are escalating today, be careful out there, avoid all the area around the Rajprasong intersection, Childlom, Siam Square..Giotto
Lots of police out on Silom Road this morning, mobilizing with riot gear. More than I've seen in the past few weeks.
I think the gov'mint wants to use today's holiday to start cleaning things up. But, remember Songkhran a year ago? Things can get ugly fast when the police (and militarty) push too hard.
Tired, frustrated 'red shirts.' Tired frustrated gov'mint (Suthep & the Demos mainly). There are fewer and fewer chances to save face as time goes on.

I got there about 3pm with I took this shot.
Overall the red shirts were very orderly.

All the government needs is to hold on until the 15th of this month... after that, well let's say the Army will switch camp. That's all I'll say for now.
The reds are on a timed schedule so yes, things could escalate... and fast.

Hello Gentlemen,
I was hoping that someone would be able to answer a few basic questions for me. I'm currently planning my very first trip to Asia in September. I've traveled extensively throughout Central and South America (Medellin is my favorite), but have never taken the long trip to the Orient. I plan on being there for two and half weeks in total. The first week and a half, and the primary reason for going, is to visit a girlfiend in Hong Kong. Most of my time there will be with her (although I might slip away for a day!). I will then have seven days to visit a second destination. I would like to visit either Thailand or the Phillipines. I've also heard great things about both. Given my limited time, the fact that I will be travelling alone, and that have never been to Asia, which one would you recommend? I've been digging through the material on the forum for both countries, but there are hundreds of pages and it is hard to get an concise version.
I've been looking at airfares from Hong Kong to either Manilla or Bangkok and both are very cheap. However, it appears that Bangkok hotels are cheaper. Which country is the best value for girls? I prefer overnight long term dates to short sessions. I also prefer more of a girlfriend experience to quickies. If I visit Thailand, would you recommend a few days in Bangkok and then the rest at Pattaya? The Penthouse Hotel which is advertised on the banner of the ISG looks like it would be a good option for a newbie and they offer airport pickup. Do you recommend it? Is there a inexpensive hotel (around $50-$75) in Bangkok which is girl friendly that you would recommend?
If I visit the Philippines instead, should I stick to Manilla or try to make it to Angeles City? It seems from the posts that I've read, it is difficult to get to Angeles City. Is there a recommended cheaper hotel for the stay in Manilla.
Thank you for any assistance that anyone can provide. One final question would be which country has more touristy things to do during the day. Thanks again.
Steve

Some quick questions
Hi everyone, I'm currently in Tokyo Japan and will be flying to Koh Samui and BKK in the next few days. I have a few questions for BKK though if anyone can help.
I'll be in town during the Thai New Year, what can I expect to happen besides so called massive water fights?
I have read here that many bars and massage places will be closed, will mongering be mostly unavailable, or does this just means I need to look harder?
Lastly, I'm hoping to find a place that sells great quality replica watches, such as Seiko / Omega, etc, can anyone recommend some specific places that hopefully won't be closed during the new year?
Thanks!
