Yea there are a lot of Haitians, so what? They are just trying to make a living. The corner around the New Garden.

Has many of them hanging around trying to sell you souveneirs or girls selling manicure pedicure or massage.

I met a couple of guys that like to call themselves Tony Montana, I guess he is really popular around here. And they.

I do not think it was targeted at a single well-identified individual AT ALL. So one day I was going to goto BB so I had a few clothes in a plastic bag you get from a takeout restaurant and I ask them how much for a beach bag guy goes to me 500 pesos for a bag. A beach bag I can get for 5 dollars on canal street. THAT STILL AINT THE PROBLEM, I'm Chinese and the fucking bags made in China!

I appreciate your adventuristic spirit. Also I'm glad everything turned out great with your chica situation. I also appreciate your honesty especially being you were initially a little scared. Now I'm going to switch gears and post about dealing with vendors, Haitian or not. Vendors are there to sell their products, they deal with hundreds of people everyday and know all the angles. When you realize this you will be able to navigate them. They have already sized you up before you arrive. Your dress, walk, nervousness, confidence etc. They know how to be your friend or tell you what you want you to hear. Understand their goal is to get you to STOP and REACT. A simple "No gracias" and keep walking will do, but most tourists introduce more to this. Maybe guilt, maybe being tough, it doesn't matter when you STOP you are playing their game. Even if they insult your momma, keep walking because they want you to STOP and REACT. My experience has taught me that the "dumb gringo" is the best approach. It has gotten me out of tickets, fights, even discount pussy when I first entered this game. If they can't communicate, they can't run game. Even if you don't understand what I'm saying just put your ipod ear phones in your ears and walk around, same concept. To finish, no one should discriminate against Haitian vendors. Would you rather they be trying to mug you, or trying to earn an honest living?

Foods is good in Sosua. Cuban Cafe- Baileys- Bon Ice Cream Shop. Spaghetti Bolenese! Germans!

Of all the guys I met the guys that drive the Motoconcho are decent I usually pick the older guys give them 50 pesos 80% of time sometimes I slip them 60-70 but don't be afraid hope on.

Sosua is very laid back. Oh and don't buy any cigars from random people for christ sake if I wanted to smoke horse shit out of your dip shit shop I'd buy something in NY cigar shops.

Sosua is not for you until you know how to roll. It may take you a long time to adjust, if ever. A simple smile and a "Grasias, no", and keep walking like you know where you're going, is all you need to avoid a sales pitch, a hassle, or a hustle. To stop and argue about price is just asking for trouble, and you'll never win anyway, because you are on their turf. You can be polite and respectful, but firm. Never say "luego" cause they'll hound you to keep your "promise".

I have met a couple of guys like you down there, always complaining about the "rip off". On the other hand they feel some righteous indignation and seem to get off on the confrontation, which is guaranteed to follow them wherever they go.

Oh, and forget about color, cause wherever you travel is all about culture, get it?
