In my last several trips to Asia, there are entry / exit stamps from those countries for each visit, but nothing in my passport from my return to the States. Just a lot of blank pages after the asian country stamps. At US Customs, they swipe my passport, look at the pic, look at their computer screen, ask some questions, and then hand it back to me. They've never stamped it once (even the old one has nothing from the US, either inbound or outbound). This includes going in / out of Mexico.

I have a USA passport as I am a USA citizen and have NO entry stamps at point of entry.

I also use the CBP expediated Global Traveler service and never wait in the lines.

I have entered most of the major US airports in East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, South; even Pacific (Guam) , and I have stamps from many of them. You should be able to find examples of US entry stamp in a US passport pretty easily with an image search. For land crossings you would have to go out of your way to get the stamp (you would have to go in the separate line for foreigners getting their visas stamped).

As far as I understand, the international norm is for countries to not to stamp entries / exits for their own country's passport holders and even in some cases for (already stamped) long term visas.

I think you must be high coming back home from Asia, I fly 8 time a year outside US I have not have my Passport stamp return back to the US since 2003 after 9-11 is all computer scanning no more stamp on all major US airport.

I just double check my US passport last time it was stamp enter US is SFO on 2002 oct, I have return back to LAX. SEA, SFO and NYC on stamp, I can understand Guam or Hawaii might still use stamp but all major airport went to computer after 9-11.

If you do go however, most hotels require passport to check-in, there is no other need for passport unless you get into trouble. You should always have it close or in the room safe, just in case.

AC is no different than anywhere else in PI. If you want LT then ask upfront, I've never been charged a different price in AC for LT vs ST. You pay the barfine upfront, same as any other city. In AC, tipping is up to you, most say don't tip (not trying to open that can of worms on this forum again!.)
