Thanks for your honesty! I had the exact same experience in Bangkok, Thermae disco. It was not a mamasan waving me off with an annoyed expression, but pretty Thai girls waiting for Japanese / Korean / Chinese customers. It was frustrating for me given that I had scored big in earlier attempts. I ended putting a cross on that name and never went back.

As for Korean WGs, they are my favorite. However, I would never dare look for them in Korea, too difficult and frustrating. Thanks to all you guys for your previous posts. I'm making my first trip, 30 HR stopover really, in Seoul in June and was hoping for some pointers and recommendations. Once I left Korea, suddenly they were very open to me, but in Korea, personally I never felt more totally ignored by the everyday Women there compared to everywhere else in Asia that I've been (almost all of it). Sure, friendly helpful encounters with them in connection with hotels and other sectors, but otherwise they did a fine job of negating my very existence, more engrossed in their mirrors or smartphones.
