For a change of pace I stopped by the massage place at 169 Tonelero, basically just a white doorway with the small number outside and a buzzer. Gents, here goes a summary of my first day back in Rio after a two year absence.

Flight & Bus ride: Arrived Rio at 8:30 am from New York by way of Charlotte. Cleared customs in a record 20 minutes despite a long line; They had extra officers working the line and pushing things. The front desk clerk, Andre, whom I've known for over ten years, quoted me R$195 for a regular room and R$330 for a suite per noite. Took the regular room, put my things away and went down stairs to change money and stock up on Preserv Extra condoms (still the best these years). Exchange rate is R$2. 00 to R$2. 10. I got R$2. 05 at the cambio opposite Hotel Praia Lido.

Girls: Dropped by balcony, ordered a skol and sat down to check out the scene. A lot of the garotas were well past their expiration but there were at least three that were at least a 7. I suspect you might have had a bit of a newbie look on your face; asking "how much" didn't help either.

Now I can respect the concept of a "takeout fee" or fine but since she quoted an outrageous price, that's a warning that she probably saw you as an easy sucker from the get-go, so she might not even be worth a lay for any price at this point. Better strategy that might redeem your chances in this situation is to ask her if she can come over to your place after her shift is over and that you'll make it worth her while. I'd say 500r for a 2 hr roll in the hay is more than enough for her, especially if the night is slow and she's clearly desperate for some cash. I'm sure some guys here will insist even that is too much but that would be my ceiling for a C girl who I think is a 9 or 10.

Now I'm not boasting or attacking you, my methods are still hit and miss. The good: Professional, courteous service. Lots of choices with girls who both looked great, nice personalities and speak enough English to get by. Professionally run. Courteous staff. Laid back atmosphere. You are not rushed.
