Were there any bust ups of sinful places in Shanghai reported in the newspapers or TV over the last few days? Or did we get bluffed?
I better not publish any weather forecast here any more. I not really like to get suspected I would spend my time bluffing around.
But a last update here: Seems the "storm" is over now. We got informed today from several sauna managers that their places will reopen now, so seems they got a sign that the "risky time" is over now.
Have fun.

More likely, LE was bluffing and the various Managers simply passed those bluffs on to Steven. Lets hope the wind dies down with the 2 closures on Hong Mei Lu.
I wish I was back in Shanghai. But for now I am back in the USA. Home of fat, rude, women.
Play safe, Have fun.

Have fun.
Not to speak for others, but I think the bluffing reference refers to the police, not you. I can confirm 100% that 5 saunas in the gubei / min hang area have been closed since Jan 8, and according to my contact at one of them, the windy weather is expected to continue 3 more days.

Have fun.
Your reports are always helpful and accurate. Most posters here are non-native English speakers, so easy to misinterpret their remarks.
ShanghaiGuide, please keep giving us weather reports. Your warning was spot on, as I reported on here. At least 2 places closed down on Hongmei Lu, and these 2 places have always been open for at least the past 3 years, so your report was spot on. I am sure other places in Minhang got closed too, but I didn't check assuming your report was accurate. I am waiting for you to tell me that the coast is clear. Thanks so much.

Taz.
If in-fact the Po-Po where bluffing about the windy weather, what if they also bluff about the sunny weather? May be a good time to stay out of these saunas regardless of any weather predictions. The weather men / ladies are always wrong anyways.
The 2 "sinful" MPs on the 3200 block on Hongmei Lu (near Laowai Jie) were closed today. This is in the Minhang District that SNG referred to. I've never seen those places closed.
You mean MontB. And Bulg. I? They've been closed since last week and the 3 other shops at the corner before were also closed after a big LE move on the 7th.
Bulg. Has been visited a few times in the past month.
I do not know how my rather straight forward question got misconstrued as a diss of SNG? I was simply asking whether we had been bluffed by the LE if there had been no raid. My thought is, if the warning of harsh weather was false, that could have been planted by LE for any or combinations of the following reasons:
1. To cut down naughty activities on the cheap, like talking down a stock.
2. It was a trap to identify and catch the mole (s) within the Department.
3. Made the mole (s) looked not credible because "his" information was not accurate.
4. Intended to cry wolves several times. Lure everyone to a false sense of security, and then strike hard for real.
5. There was going to be a raid, but it was called off because it had been leaked.

Yesterday I had a blast. I actually had three. First pop at the place next to the Buddha one on Changping Rd. Great service. +200 tip got me FS and CIM with a slightly tipsy girl. I think they were having a celebration of some sort.
I walked to a bar that a friend recommended, somewhere nearby. Its called BNC or something like that. A dive bar, quite nice. When I walked out I went to a very explicit pink-lit massage place next to it. Same deal. 400 got me FS. Didn't try CIM though. Gorgeous tits, although the girl had a bitchy attitude through the encounter.
I thought I had enough and was about to uber back to Gubei, but then I asked around what's new in this area (I used to live nearby) and ended up going to another club up north in Xikang road. Small, dark, intimate. Drank my life out until 4 am or so. Walked out and came back to the same pink-lit massage place to attempt one last pop. It did work but I'm clearly on the limit of my stamina at that point. I did CIM and the girl was surprised to see there were only a couple of drops LOL. Empty tank.
Total damage 468 at the next-to-Buddha place, 400 per encounter (FS+CIM) at the pink lit place. Jing'an is in party mode yo.
Disclaimer: I'm mixed so I have good guanxi with the local girls if I really want to.
A friend took me to this sauna at around 6:30 this evening. It was in either Hongkuo or the old Zhabei area. He drove and I had no idea where I was. The club and the girls were so-so (so unlikely will repeat), but that place was PACKED with local mongers. My friend said it was usually not as busy, but the guys were blown up north by the wind.
Sauna places I knew in MinHong are still closed. So undoubtedly the establishments there think the weather is really bad. I was. and still am, wondering whether there was any actual raid and arrests.
PM me if you need some info.
Thanks. I have good knowledge of what's available in my area.
Have fun.
Has anyone found a MP with a table that has a conveniently located hole for little bro? Same goes for that chair in the shower. Been looking around for awhile. Willing to trade info.

Windy weather is more about politics than any actual or eventual raid. I can't even imagine the complex politics that must go on in this business, but I guess every now and then, LE has to make things look good. I'd guess the only two ways a raid would actually take place is either to make an example (for whatever reason) or a very serious crack down.
For example, the last time I went to KD, they were only taking people in through the back entrance, using the cover of a nearby restaurant to 'hide' the people. I was out on the 7th, the last almost safe night (in my hood) and at the first place I went there was a single uniformed LE. That was what I'd guess a warning shot. Within the next 20 minutes the calls started coming in (it was actually kinda cool for me as I was with my contact all the while, so I got to see (hear) something I wouldn't normally see).
