Expecting a gratuity does not define a ho; most African women would be insulted unless you gave them something. Just like most Africans of any standing in life (male and female) would regard you as a Cheap Charlie if you invited them to a meal and did not offer meat. Pizza is for weenies, salads for those who want to eat grass.
Come to think of it, several years ago most embassies were in the habit of paying a gratuity to Kenyans guests if they were expected to show up at receptions.
