From what Shoo Bree seems to be insinuating, the UAE, United Arab Emirates is a mongering Mecca, which I thought was in Saudi Arabia. Since I'm always ready to learn, I decided to do a little bit of research. I must say I did learn a few things which surprised me.

The first thing I looked at was airfare. There's no sense in considering a place if it's going to cost half my budget to get there. That was my first surprise. At just over $1,000 round-trip, it's cheaper than I expected although still about double what I pay to Colombia. It's also 22 hours each way, compared to under 7 if I make good connections to Colombia.

Next up, is prostitution legal? Nope. Clearly it's widespread, readily available and tolerated, but not legal. That's not really a deal breaker, but something to keep in mind.

Next on my agenda, lodging. I didn't do any in depth search, I just punched in Abu Dhabi on Booking and listed the prices low to high. Wow! That was my next surprise. I was expecting a cheap room to be at least $75 per night, but there were many options for under $40. Still doesn't quite stack up to Colombia, where I can get by for under $30, but I am impressed. Even some 5 star places were very reasonable. Food prices also seem quite reasonable. Again, Colombia is much cheaper, but UAE beat my expectations.

Of course, the most important cost for a mongering trip is the price of pussy. For that, I spent a few minutes on the UAE board. I saw 3 prices given, one which I had to do some searching to interpret. Apparently a "red" is how guys refer to the 100 AED notes. The prices I saw were 1800,800 and 500, or $490, $218 and $136.

I'm sure there are lower and higher priced girls available, but even if 500 AED is the standard rate, it's easily double what I pay in Medellin. I can get roughly those prices in the US, although service in the US typically is poor.

One advantage UAE does have is variety. In Colombia you're limited to Colombians and Venezuelans, which are basically Colombians with thicker arepas. The UAE apparently gets girls from all over the world. That makes sense. If they can pull around $200 per trick and live cheaply, it's a good way to build a retirement fund.

My conclusion is that while the UAE probably isn't the number one choice for most mongers, it would be worth a visit if you were already in the area. Thank you Shoo Bree for inspiring me to read up on it.
