The mamasan in Flash Rat told me the tip is usually 1 k pesos. I asked specifically if the BF system was like Angeles. When I gave this amount to my girl, she took it without comment and did not seem really excited by it either.

The GRO at Voodoo, now under different ownership than Flash Rat, told me the tip should be half the BF. Since their new BF rate is 2000p, this would equate to the same tip amount as Flash. Since I heard it twice from separate unrelated sources, it did not appear to be a joke but your question is a good one.

Kind of wondered what would have happened if I did NOT give her anything this morning? This girl lives at Flash Rat in the back of the club so sounds like a shoddy living arrangement with the other girls. I guess that I could have halved it because she was light in the oral department but that seems like a niggardly thing to do since I was pleased overall.

My flight yesterday was one of the ones cancelled due to Typhoon Nona. I was surprise that once the weather cleared a little CP sent a couple unscheduled flights. Of course it was a little hectic to me to be waiting on standby to find out if I was on the plane or not. But I sat there patiently as about 50 others. The flight was full but I did get on to Manila. Now Manila T-3 was so crowded and the traffic was so slow due the the torrential rain and probably flooding. I did see some flooded streets as we were landing.

Never the less I was impressed by CP getting flights going a day later.

I arrive at T3 just after midnight, and my flight to Cebu isn't until 5 AM.

Is there a place in T3 I can buy a local sim card around 1-2 AM?

Or in the Cebu airport between 6-7 AM.

There is also a small sari-sari convenience store. If they are closed or don't have SIMs then across the street from NAIA terminal 3 is Resorts World, and in the Remington Hotel building there is a 7-11 where you can buy a SIM. If you don't want to walk across the road or are too encumbered by luggage you can also ask an airport security guard because some of those guys sell them. YMMV with this, and I'm sure there will be a few comments warning about this. Certainly check to make sure the SIM hasn't expired. Up to you.

The most important thing is buying the correctly sized SIM, so you need to know what kind your mobile uses.

They also have a Tourist promotion for a free SIM. Also sell recharge cards (minimum P500).

Although it doesn't help the original poster, when I am leaving the country each time part of my standard ops is to take a Globe P300 recharge with me. I am usually returning within 4-5 months and the original SIM has always worked.

Incidentally, a midnight arrival and a 5 am flight isn't really that much time. Getting through customs, bags has taken me up to 90 minutes, plus add 30 minutes for a late arrival. Plus getting to your Cebu Pacific checkin, queueing, going through your round of checkpoints and you should just make it. .

Please check and double check your arrival and departure terminals.

I have no luggage, only carry on. And connecting flight is the same terminal. So I think I have enough time on arrival in Manila even with a delay, but not time enough to get to Resort world.

When at T3 arrival level, you need to go to the extreme ends of the terminal to get up to the departures level. If you peek outside on the arrival level, the dragon security will force you to go to the ends and be re-screened. Stupid.

There are lots of coffee shops with wi-fi.

I am doing a similar transit early next year, arrive 11 pm, depart 8 am. I'm thinking with this I will have time to go SOGO and ESDA.

If you plan on coming back to Phil it is always good to have an extra SIM card on hand. Also load cards too. Smart load cards have an expiration date on them. I generally use an online load service like [URL]aryty.com[/URL] and load a day before coming. When the plane touches down I have instant service. I have a special unlocked older iPhone for visits and it retains the numbers and texts. So it is easy to pick up where I left off from the last visit.

It is easy to just use a new SIM card to get rid of pesky girls. What is nice about the iPhone is it has a block call and a do not disturb function.

I'm using a very old Nokio dual SIM which I paid less than 1 k peso and it allows me to block. Load has expiration dates, but SIM is usually good to go if you come at least once a year. It's also easy to pick up where I left off, but I can never remember where I left off!

I spent total 33 days in Thailand and Philippines. I had a very good time by meeting with my contacts. Especially Thailand was awesome. I came back to USA thru Vancouver, BC airport and they do have US Customs there. They questioned almost 3. 5 hrs due to my visit to both countries and went thru every electronic devices I did have in my possession. I took only few nude pictures and they were X rated and everything was kosher but it became a total harassment. So, you need to be careful what you are bringing back home. It was a negative experience for me what I went thru at customs.
