It's partly money and partly a macho thing. Your average Dominican tiguere feels it is a slight on his manhood to have to wear a condom. Stupid, illogical, and possibly fatal, but true nonetheless. And these guys often rent out their chicas to their friends and (especially) to their employers to fuck as a favor or to pay off a debt of a few hundred pesos. If any cash is exchanged it doesn't go to the chica. This does not necessarily mean that the guy is not genuine fond of the chica. It is just the culture here.
Add to that all the fucking that goes on within families and it is no surprise that it is rare to meet a chica over 21 that doesn't have at least one child and some have four by that age. That is what drives so many chicas onto the game and keeps prices low compared with more socially advanced countries.
Forgive me for my (cultural) ignorance, but I was just curious if this is an island-wide cultural thing? Or is it more confined to the North Coast / PP or rural areas? The reason I ask is because (assuming they follow the US model) city folks operate differently than country folks (i.e. Santo Domingo vs. Puerto Plata vs. Monte Llano vs. La Vega vs. Santiago, etc.) . And most of us city folks consider country folks to be some backwards folks, lol.

A lot of truth in both prejudices but also numerous exceptions. I am sure there is nothing regional about it, and I am only talking about the underclass which behaves much the same in any part of the DR whether in a backward village or a slum barrio. Obviously it ceases to be true as you go up the scale of education and income. But most holidaying mongers in Sosúa (and my comments were posted in the Sosúa section) don't have sex with educated and non-sex industry employed chicas.

Most guys visiting Sosua falsely assume that "all pros are the same" or that they all originate from one area, not realizing that these chicas are coming from all over the island. It is very possible that there are a handful of chicas in Sosua who's family may not be dirt poor, but she is there because she knows she can make some fast cash (for clothes, shoes, cell phone, tuition, etc.) incognito.
A lot of guys who read this board and go there without knowing too much about what goes on culturally in the DR outside of Sosua may get their feelings hurt if they try to offer a chica 1500 for TLN and she laughs at them. 1500 may go a long way for a dirt poor chica from Puerto Plata who's main concern is her family and kids, but for a chica from Santiago on a "earn and burn (off)" mission to make some fast consumption cash (so that she can look "fly" for next semester or to imitate the looks of the "Real House Putas" they see on TV or in the telenovelas) 1500 for TLN might be an insult.
It's the same way with so-called "hustlas" in the USA. You have guys who's only motivation for selling drugs is to feed their families, and you then have guys that sell drugs to buy "ice" (diamonds), gold rims for their cars, and candy paint for "da Lack" (Cadillac); doing as much as they can to imitate the "studio gangstas" they see on BET and MTV (and doing it as quickly as they can before law enforcement eventually catches up with them).

LOL that Funny. I'm still waiting to see those, guess I got to go to Dubi. Anyway. I like Cuba libre its great for events. The pace gets slower on the strip as you.
Get further away from Clasicos, El Flow etc.
After reading the Sosua news report that said that officials from the Ministario de Turismo and blah blah came to check out the local action as saw that Sosua is hurting I
Would IMAGINE that they see would see the need for the police to back off or just get there cut from possible other interests.
When I was there is July / August there was a lot more chicas that were either locals from Sosua or POP, Gasper Hernandes, Santiago blah blah, or those that had
Chosen to relocate from SDQ and blah blah blah when times were good and are now stuck. This is in contrast to when I was visiting in 2007/2008 and even 2009. I would
Meet chicas from every nook and cranny of the island. Which led me to believe that Sosua was just the "in" place to be at that time.
On my plane ride back to the States this past August I met a man that was strikingly familiar to me on the plane; I'll call him Rafael. This man turned out to be a famous
(infamous if he tells the story) political commentator who is extremely critical of the Dominican government, and boasted to have no fear; but, in the next breath told me
He told me he has 2 body guards and his 85K luxury automobile was bulletproof, LOL. Initially, I thought that to be odd then realized that there is a intrinsic difference
Between being fearful and being a dumb ass.
Rafael was kind enough to explain the tourist game to me. Surprisingly, (to me anyway) He was very candid and spoke at volumes about the tourist industry and the sex
Industry in his country; he was very open. One of the many things he said on the flight was that the North Coast specifically POP had enjoyed decades of prosperity, where
Cruise ships use to dock there; but, now the Punta Cana region is basically supporting the tourist industry and there is much more to come in the way of developments.
Additionally, he explained how many people 1 resort creates a cascading effect and supports a superabundance of people. At great lengths he spoke about how the growers of the food that is consumed on the resort benefit to the employees to the women that benefit from the sex trade blah blah blah.
So, when I was there in July / August I saw less diversity in women opposed to years of late. I agree with Pros where chicas would take the bus up from all over the island,
Rent a bed in the place above super super, next to the barber shop, next to the nail salon and give TLN for 1500 in a heart beat.

Has anyone been to either hotel in Sosua?
Which would you recommend?
Looking for walking distance to Sosua central (where passions, etc. Is located)
And something comfortable, safe, clean and AC.
Also not more than $50 a night.
Any other chica-friendly in Sosua that is better?
Also, what is the best way and $$ to get from Costambar to Sosua?
I have traditionally only given 1000 pesos for TLN, but because of you guys I have decided to bump it up to 1500. So as I do in all of my mongering haunts, I put the TLN money inside of the nightstand drawer before I left the room. The next day before the girl leaves I can just point to the drawer for her to get her payment.
So I headed out to Latino's and the place was damn near empty. As reported before there were about 5 people there; one male with a female and three other females. So I high-tailed it over to my spot in front of Classico. I always sit directly in front on the planter that has the tree. When I arrived there was already a young Dominicano in my spot, but I sat down next to him. He struck up a conversation. I don't know why the guys hang around like that. All I am thinking about at that point is hot pussy.
A girl from the other side of the gate called me over so I went and sat at the bar with her. For at least the next hour I put on the act for everyone that I didn't speak Spanish. The chica said she had come from Puerto Plata with 3 of her home girls that were in different sections of the bar trying to find work. She pointed them out to me. She wanted me to buy her a beer but I refused. I told her that she has to work before she drinks. If she drinks first then she may not do good work and will become lazy on the job. She finally left because I kept looking at and talking to other chicks who would pass by.
Another pair of girls came. I was talking to one and trying to negotiate. I told her that I would give her 1000 pesos for all night. She started thinking about it but before she could answer her friend butted in saying that it wasn't enough and she would not go for that much money. Guess what? She wanted it. But since her friend was such a loudmouth I rescinded my offer. I told her that next time she wanted to make some money keep her friend away from the negotiating table because she had ruined it for her. Then they wanted me to buy them a beer but I refused. They left to find another punter.
A guy sitting next to me was from Washington, D. C. And it appeared that he knew every girl that came to the bar. One girl came in and she was just my type. I spoke aloud to myself saying, 'Who in the fuck is that? ' He said, 'Oh. That is Wendy. I've been fucking her friend the last few days. ' I kept my eye on her. Finally I invited her over to talk to me. She was tall and thick and she was talking some good shit.
Then a chick came in who I had met last trip. It was the chick who was sucking my dick then wanted to tell me a price of 3,000. When I would not go for it she got dressed, bit my hand and left. She did not remember me. She refused to acknowledge that it was her. She said it must have been her sister or friend. She even went to get their cedulas to show me and when I stuck to my guns telling it was her she brought the girls physically over. They had no idea who I was and I had never laid eyes on them either. She still denied it was her saying that it could not have been because her boyfriend was in town at that time and she was with him.
Somewhere in the middle of all of this the first girl came back over and SHE bought me a beer. Her generosity (after she was at first trying to make me buy her a beer) made me want to take her to the room. The negotiations fell through because she wanted 1500 or 2000 short time. She would not be able to stay because she had to go back home to Puerto Plata before her family woke up.
During this time the pair of girls came back asking me to give them 100 pesos to get home. I started laughing. They had on high heels and I pointed to the girl from Puerto Plata's sneakers telling them that she was smart and next time they had better wear shoes like her if they know they won't have money to get home.
Now back to the girl who did not remember me. I told her sister to come back to my hotel with me to see the pictures on my computer. All three of us walked out to the street together but then I told the girl that only me and her sister would go. Yes it was her. Same eyebrow design and all. We went back to the bar with my computer. It was now blocked off with chairs (guess it was closing time) but I went around them. I showed everyone the pictures and there was big laughter. Either because she was outright lying and got caught or because she can't remember her customers.
Before I had left to get the computer I had asked Wendy for her price. She said 1500. Winner! I told her to give me a while to settle the issue with the other girl but I definitely wanted her to come with me for the night. I was smart enough to get her phone number before I left. And it is a good thing that I did because when I returned to the bar she was gone. I had to call her and ask where she had gone. She came back to the bar and we went to the hotel together.
She claimed to be a student from Santiago. I called bullshit and asked to see her student ID card. She said that it was home. I let her know that I knew she was full of shit and was not a student. Everything went good for the night. When we got up the next morning she started talking about how she wanted to go eat. I told her that she could go get whatever she wanted to eat with her money as I pointed to the drawer. She opened it and saw 3 500 peso bills. She immediately got upset and said that she had told me 2500. I cussed her out and told her that nobody in their right fucking mind would give her 2500 pesos for TLN so stop trying to bullshit me. The agreement was 1500. She put on a little show but I was unmoved. She asked me to drop her off at the place she was staying and I obliged. It was after noon. I then met my friend at Rocky's for a late as hell breakfast. Despite the show that Wendy put on about the money, the rest of the time I was in DR she would call and call trying to hook up with me again. But as usual I keep it moving, never hitting the same one twice.
I will be in Sosua today about 4 or 5 PM. Staying in the New Garden. They weren't very clear about their email, so hopefully I have a room there. I'll be there until Oct 1st. Anybody around to have a few drinks and show me around?
CMP (Caribbean Men's Paradise) is a bar / brothel. It is located on Pedro Clissante between the New Garden Hotel (with it's on site chicas) and the Residence D'Piero hotel. It has nothing to do with either of the hotels. I stayed at both hotels. Both are nice but have different atmospheres. Cuba Libre and La Passions are also bar / brothels just up the road from CMP.
I hadn't seen your post John. Thank you very much!

Thanks you for your report Mr. Enternational. It helps to feel the atmosphere.
