That's why Shanghai is now called SCAMHAI
Gennai. Very sorry to hear this but I am not surprised. It seems that most of the population of Scamhai is looking to extract your $$$ at any angle. I have had many similar situations and my buddy lost $2,700 USD. Not good and I feel Scamhai is the shit bowl of the world. Here's a little joke for you -.
Question. How do you know when someone in Scamhai is trying to scam you?
Answer. When they breathe.
Take care!
The report continued.
Been milked almost twice tonight. Unfortunately not the happy kind.
Teahouse scam.
Attractive lady adds me on wechat. We chat a little in Chinese, agree on meeting later straight away (red flag, I guess no Chinese girl would do that so easily? Meeting point was a Star bucks to have a chat over coffee. It was 23 pm already (red flag). I Arrive at the meeting point, of course the Starbucks has closed. Much to my surprise the girl is very pretty and comely and super friendly in conversation, not reserved or shy at all (red flag). She suggests a place nearby and we get into a cab, enticing very smooth convo. Arrival at that place, very run-down and back-alley-esque and my rising suspicion has dawned on me: It's going to be a KTV / Teahouse scam!. Our chatter quickly becomes a monologue of her questions as my chattiness comes to a halt. I try to tell her to stop a few times to no avail, she insists on going inside with the typical KTV manager lady when I eventually stop right before the room demanding that I did not agree to this, I've turned around and started walking away, but gently grabbing my girls hand telling her I want to go somewhere else, no KTV. I try to let her keep some face. She doesn't throw a tantrum, we go into a cab and she suggest to go some place on the Bund. I let her and this is when I realized that she began texting frantically. I manage to catch a glimpse of her homescreen: it was covered with Wechat apps, around 15 - 20. I guess all different identities huh. I let the cabbie drive some more and then I've let her know that it has been getting too late and I'm going to go to my hotel. She protests but I'm telling the taxi driver directly and affirming it a few times even. So when we get there, I get out and she's asking for the cab fee. I reply that she wanted to pay for the first ride anyways and that this is her chance, I slam the door, bye bye.
If you get into a situation like this: let her and everyone involved keep their face as much as possible. Of course if you get in and already had a sip then you're done.
When I got back to the hotel, called the spa to arrange for a love sister. The girl came up to my room, very mediocre looking, was asking 2000 rmb. I told her 1000 rmb and I knew it was a mistake but I just had about enough and needed some release. The deed was very very bad.
The report used to be very detailed, but was not submitted properly and most was lost. So I'm cutting it short now.
Almost got scammed yet again:
Gone to 'the shelter'. Filipino lady dancing, seems to know the DJ etc. We didn't pay too much attention to her, but incidentally bumped into her by the door when we decided to leave for another place. Asked her where to party, she suggested a place 'fabric'. Same pattern as above, engaging you in conversation, but this time she had been contradicting herself a lot. But to our luck, when we went there it was empty. We left, she scrammed.
Keep your day job NorthSouth
Hey NS. Why don't you do what you do best. Put down others who have legit questions or bad experiences in SCAMHAI. Tell them to RTFF. That seems to be your go-to line. WOW. Branching out into comedy. Let me tell you. Sorry but the joke (and you) are a flop!
