I've done Cuba, Brazil, Costa Rica, Brazil, Russia, Ukraine and some here at home (USA) As of late I've been keeping a low profile for a number of reasons. In June or July I am planning a long trip to Asia. Where? Well thats my dilemma. Help!

I have about three weeks that I can take. I'm looking at Thailand, Philippines and some of the less traveled countries, Laos, Cambodia, Burma. Seems from what I've read that the smaller venues are hit or miss and not too easy for the first timer.

So what would you do if you had three weeks? Best bang for the buck? Is it worth going to two countries, or am I better off one country two places? I know this is the Philippines Forum but I'm guessing there's a few guys that have visited other places.

I would recommend that you do not spread yourself out too thin and try to see it all. Nobody comes to Asia just once. Once you have tasted the fruit, you will return. Itineraries. As I see it there are two great ones: #1. BKK and Pat. #2. BKK, Pat and AC. Try plan # 2 and spend a week in each destination. It is a very good introduction. You will love it, guaranteed. Each place has its own distinctions and assets. Cebu Pacific has cheap flights from BKK direct into AC (Clark) and back. When you get back home don't forget to write a trip report. On your second trip you can revisit your favorite places from the first trip and then take in Phnom Penh if you want. Laos is not very good for mongering although it is a nice country to see. Burma ditto except the girl scene in Rangoon is a little better. Other more worthy destinations to consider later on are Cebu, Manila, Jakarta, Batam, HKG, CP and Macau. RTFF.

I am getting a little burnt on AC as I try to go about once a month. Still look forward to going but I want to broaden my horizons a little bit.

Not interested in Manila, but are there any other destinations that have affordable hotels (ABC / Lewis Grand quality at Pacific Breeze Price) and readily available mongering?

At the end of the day, I just want to get shit faced near water, whether its the ocean or a pool, next to a beautiful girl that will fuck me six ways from Sunday. The more I think about it, the more it sounds like AC is the right place. Just not excited about paying so much for a hotel! China has spoiled me in terms of quality vs cost on their hotels.

I am looking into other hotels for this trip. As I have been at the big 3 ABC Lewis and Wild Orchid. I have been at Pacific Breeze and Swiss Chalet as well, ABC is by far my favorite with a big gap then Wild Orchid / PacificBreeze / SwissChalet then another huge gap then Lewis Grand. If ABC and Wild Orchid were both booked and I had a choice between staying at lewis grand for half price or not going on the trip, I wouldn't go on the trip. The cost to value was just so out of whack when I went there. Though I am willing to give it another shot (the last time I stayed there, they had to move me to three different rooms due to various hardware issues!) if they comp me a night.

Heard the Clarkton got remodeled recently and that the new rooms are supposed to be pretty good. Someone also said great things of Geomania in terms of value.

And just to keep everyone on track and talking about tipping rather than girls / hotels / things to do in AC.

Bar owners get smarter, girls get smarter, hotel owners get smarter and all are out to bilk the sex mongers.

One way or another. Gone are the days when the girls were from provinces went ga ga over meeting a foreigner who treated her better than local boyfriends and tips, gifts flowed just for opening pussy. In some caees they got sponsors sending them money.

Nowadays all girls learnt how to play their games with a foreigner. If they did not learn from themselves other girls teach them. Nowadays most girls have an attitude either in the bar or in the room. They are always thinking how to rip you off by way of tips with least amount of damage to their body.

We mongers are partly to blame for this situation. We kept corrupting them by giving them lots of money, taking them to expensive restaurents and treating them like girlfriends. Girls also learned not to trust mongers word as many mongers promised marriage, made babies and left them hanging etc.

AC is still a good place to visit and try to find that elusive gem who will fuck your brains out, be your girlfriend, discuss in english, make you feel like a king irrespective of your age. Not to mention even though the barfine price has gone up still cheap.

1) From Bangkok airport, take the bus or get a taxi (1000 Baht total from the taxi service that is recommended by posters here) to Pattaya.

Option: I would skip Bangkok, but that is an option.

2) From Pattaya, get a taxi to the airport (900 Baht) and fly to Phnom Penh on Air Asia.

Options: You can do Siem Reap and / or Snooky.

3) Take the 7 hour bus from Phnom Penh to Saigon on Mekong Express (approx $12). Read the forum and get yourself a $10 CIM BJ or $31 FS.

4) Take Cebu Pacific from Saigon to Clark (Angeles).

Options: You can do Manila (which I would skip) and / or Subic, Puerto Galera.

5) Take Cebu Pacific from Clark or Manila to Bangkok.

Yes PP is cheaper than AC but it is a bigger shit hole than AC, now AC have a mall and you ca go to Manila short bus ride and you need a visa to go to PP, girl in PP don't speak any english not as GF as girl in AC yes 10 yr ago the viet girl is pretty but no any more quality his gone down hill mostly Khmer now.

I had planned to go Cambodia in March and to Vietnam for diving next month but decided to skip Vietnam for diving in PI instead. Some of my plans for the week before that just fell through so I am seriously thinking about doing #s 2 & 3 now. But my #4 would be continuing on to Manila where I have already booked a flight from there to Coron. I don't know about the 7 hour bus ride on #3 though. I just looked up the flights. From BKK to PP on Air Asia is $79 for the 1 hour flight. For PP to Ho Chi Minh from Cambodia Angor Air I got this message,"The booking feature is stopped working for maintenance. Please try again few days later." And Vietnam Air wants $170 for the 45 minute flight. That is twice as much as my 3 hour return from Clark to BKK. I will definitely figure something out so I can kill the two Cambodia and Vietnam birds with one stone and have all of March to stay home in Pattaya.

AC hotels. The fame of AC is spreading far and wide, and its now being used as name by a hotel brand. But no you can't redeem your Marriott points in AC just yet.

Cebu Pacific from Saigon goes to Manila. You can get a taxi from your Angeles hotel (approx 2600 pesos) to take you to Angeles.
