Jazz is not really that popular in Brazil so if you are a real jazz aficionado you may not find any up to your standard. If you are visiting Brazil you might be better off sampling Brazilian music. I went late afternoon on a weekday. When I was at Sauna House ten years ago the lineup was better but I remember going later in the evening between 8 and 11 PM. I went to Yankin. It is located right off the Ana Rosa metro stop. It is actually faster and cheaper to get to Yankin from a Paulista hotel then to get to the places in Bela Vista and Jardins that I have mentioned in earlier reports.

So where is the middle ground / sweet spot during the day? Casarao can fit the bill at night when it is popping but not a guarantee.
