I find Kata Noi a bit too secluded. It is mostly a couple of resorts, with little if anything else. You are better off over the hill in Kata Beach. I stayed at the Kata Poolside Resort a couple of months ago, but there is a huge development going on next door and they work pretty much 24/7 x 7. Probably a good choice. You get the best of both worlds. If the sun is out, the beach is right nearby, and if the rain comes calling, it is only a short dash into the arms of your new best friend. I'm a frequent reader of this great forum but actually have hardly contributed yet. But after my experience at Christin Massage Parlour a few days ago I felt it might be of interest to the others here.

Went with friends to Christin at 4:30 pm and choice was pretty average among the some 30 girls siting in the fish tank. Papasan quote 1800 to 2800, depending on age (as he explained) but dropped quickly down to 2500 after noticing my big question marks in the eyes, which I still considered above the known prices and went straight for the THB 1800.

Choose no. 12 since she could speak English. Forgot her Thai name but she mentioned she is called "Funny" in English.

Nice soapy massage performance and standard procedures. Nothing outstanding. Judging the price and the outside of the building of Christin I expected a place of more style and nicer atmosphere but it's more like a 2-star hotel in China and I was kind of afraid catching fungus being barefoot on that filthy carpet in the room. Otherwise the room was simple but kind of clean.

The unpleasant part came when no. 12 demanded a tip of 1000 at the end of the 90 minutes. Having done my homework here in the forum beforehand I was nicely questioning the THB 1000 tip. She immediately started calling me names and swearing at me. She even grapped my shoes and didn't want to return them to me. Only after I took my mobile starting to dial she gave in. I interpreted her behaviour as her way telling me not to tip her at all. Went down without tipping and complained to papasan about her attitude and that me and my friends wouldn't see any reason to come back to Christin again.

There are so many nice girls around Phuket that there is no need to spend that much money to be called names. Thank you but no thank you.

Ive stayed at Summer Breeze once last year and its an ok place. Just dont expect it to be a 4-5 star hotel. For the price its still a bargain as others have pointed out, its right near the action and only 1 block away from the beach (ok--its a very Long block though).

Hello fellow Mongers:

Strongly suggest you try the K Hotel in Patong. Excellent service, great restaurant, rooms start at 1000 baht a night and up. Started out last week at the Patong Bay Gardens for 2500 after my buddy beat them down pricewise and it was horrible.

K Hotel has free wireless internet everywhere included and no joiner fees. This is a great location for anyone looking for a place to crash.

Shame that there ain't nothin' goin' on here in Taipei that doesn't cost ya large.

I´ve stayed in SummerBreeze last November - following a recomandation from this forum. It´s definetly a good start if your activities are centered around our hobby:

central, clean, friendly staff and a perfect nightie

It is so o.k. that I stayed there trhee weeks - but I would not do so again. You can find much cheaper rooms with the same quality regading interieur and quality - or you can find something with more comfort. But for some reasons I was too lazy to go and search out... :-)

They have different rooms - so if you go in off season you may have the choice. If you need a balcony - not available. The food is o.k. - but try the restaurant next door on the right hand side - they have the better breakfast.

One more tipp: If you like long island ice tea - tell the girl that you want it with coke...and not without coke!

If the beach is too busy for you - just rent a moto and go over the hill to Laem Sing Beach. You have to park at the road and climb some stairs down to the beach. Most farang are to lazy to do so. And don´t forget to take a girl from bangla with you!

Just got some queries regarding the hotels in Phuket. I was just wondering, have any of the fellow forumers here has stayed at this hotel. Coconut Village Resort, Phuket. Cheapest I can find. Hehehe. What to do?? On a shoe string budget mah. Izit any good? Girl friendly? Please do point out any other good and cheap accomodations available near the beach. Thanks a bundle.

I stayed there earlier this year. Pretty good hotel, nice rooms and a pool. But not really girl friendly. They have a sign for 600B joiner fee in the lobby.

You must be a Malaysian going up north.If so you should try the accomodation
before turning down into Sarasin Bridge near Phanga.Very cheap and girl
friendly.Maybe longer distance to town, but its worth it.

Sorry my vehicle went too fast to copy anything.But you or anyone else should be okay if travelling down from Phanga by road as there will be
numerous signboards pointing the way to the bungalow of your choice.
At this time no need to book also as its the low season in August on the west
coast in my experience.
Now I rarely go to Phuket because of the exorbitant general cost for example
RM90 for a basic room which is only cool after sunset and breakfast in main
road Patong Beach at RM15.Suppose for Mat Sallehs it is no problem!!
Try Koh Lanta,Koh Libong etc for cheaper not spoilt cost.

I highly recommend the Safari Beach Hotel which is immediately next to the Savoey Restaurant (same owners) Located on the Beach Road, 150 ft north of Bangla Rd. Small simply rooms are 1200b, larger and nicer rooms 2200b and beach rooms for 4400b. 100% girl friendly. Breakfast is served on a beachfront patio - a great place to have a late morning coffee with your local tourguide. Staff has always been very helpful and friendly.

Since Savoey has long been considered the biggest ripoff on the street, it's amazing that the Safari is cheap and girl friendly. Go figure!
