Which motel is this?
Which motel?
IMHO, the sweet spot for the "market" for P4P since 2008 has moved to the proximity of Red Light District "terma" (how it's listed on brazilian boards) and the Tijuca prives, like Annes, Mix, and Massagem Tijuca. The motel that you reference would be within a healthy man's daylight walking distance of all of the above (and Mosaico, VM). This is per the brazilian boards. Always doing internet recon for my next RJ trip!
There's a very upscale motel within walking distance of VM that will impress anyone (except a non-pro, who generally thinks motels are no-no's unless she's married, in which case they're a yes-yes).

I don't advise anybody to go to VM, it's dirty, dangerous and the quality of the girls is a very low. Don't listen to the guys who are going to VM with locals.
What danger is there in Vila Mimosoa? If a white guy from Europe, aka Christopherd, can go countless number of times and nothing has happened then I personally don't see anything dangerous about the place. Sure it's dirty. And as for low quality girls those are probably everywhere. Just don't fuck the ones who are low quality, fuck the best ones. Always seemed to work for me anyway.
Which motel?
The one that is good quality and walking distance from VM is the Gallant, which I've used more than once. There's shops and stuff nearby and buses everywhere, but it is not exactly handy for anything else. The Metro station is very close though.
Look, there is no need to get all angry when someone mentions VM. The addiction to high-price venues puts a lot of people off posting. Please respect that everyone is entitled to their preferences. I'm not the only one that has been going to VM for more years than I can remember. It is dirty. That does not mean the girls are dirty. Most of the rooms (not all) are dirty. Facilities are very basic. It takes a long time very often to find a gem. But I've done it many times, and found first class lookers, yes I mean it, and they don't have the attitude problems of Copa girls or the high roller expectancy of the privees and termas. Many are straight from the countryside. They can work at VM and be their own boss. And the security for the girls is good. Healthcare is there and everything else they need. It's a self-contained village and a lot of people are very proud of it. There is no pre-screening that you get elsewhere so you will see hundreds of very ugly horrible women. It's a free market and only suitable for those that like to dig for the gems. It is dangerous if you are a big loudmouth. There are no concessions for gringos. I'm not recommending you go there or don't go there. But it is misleading, based on inadequate knowledge, to say it is dangerous when we talk all the time about Copa (which looks safe and isn't). Some of the streets nearby are not recommended. The one or two girlie bars immediately outside of VM are not recommended. But for experienced mongers who know how to navigate cheaper areas and have at least an idea of how to blend in, there is little or no danger. Ironic that someone uses the name as their handle and doesn't know the place well enough to have a good time there.
You don't need to tell anything to the owner. I have used AirBnB in Rio for two times over the past three months and it's a great option. Specially compared to hotels, which are more expensive and have a lot of limitations.
Just find something that suits you and rent the whole apartment. Whatever you do in the apartment is up to you. Period.
Yeah, I agree, and have had good experiences with AirBnB (remember it is not an agency. They simply put you in touch with the owner of whatever property you select. Then it is up to you how you get on). I've never had any problems with taking anyone back to an apartment. But there again, I'm pretty low-key, try not to attract attention, and try to work out where the doorman is coming from.
However I think Sperto mentioned a little while back (correct me if I am wrong) that some apartment owners have tried to block p4ps. Most assume you are not going to take p4ps back but don't have a horrific clause in the contract. I don't go up to an apartment owner and tell him or her that I intend to use the place just for that. If there is something in the contract and they feel strongly about it, I suppose a doorman could rat out the person 'abusing' it. Bear in mind some people living in the edificio feel, quite understandably, that it lowers the tone. Contrary to what some people tell you, ordinary Brasilians don't think p4p is normal, especially on their doorstep.
As I say, I have never personally come across a problem, but Sperto knows his stuff so I for one am not about to discount his opinion.

Barra 400
After doing some research and looking also into Bubba's reports, I found out that there is a club 5 mins walking from my hotel. Cafe 400.
Address: Avenida do Pepe. 400. Barra the Tijuca.
Had a short walk, paid 50 R$ and got in. (part of the fee gives you free drinks)
My first impression was – ugly ladies night. But slowly the pretty girls (not too many) came in and I started to feel better &61514;
After few mins I put my eyes on a beautiful blonde young girl, she smiled to me and of course I gave her a big smile and she came and had a sit beside me.
I was lucky as she spoke some basic English and more lucky after less than a minute she started to kiss me with her tongue like she's in love with me for years.
We had a beer together and then she started to ask about going into the room, took the 1 hour session, paid 300R$ (cash) and we went upstairs.
Room was nice but no hot water in the shower.
Session was good almost not limit and she did everything, but I felt that she still needs to gain more skills (she told me she's 24 years old)
If I remember right her name was Luci or something similar.
A couple of my brazilian buddies had visited this place and gave me a heads up on it. However, I did not have a chance to go yet. Thanks for the report. If you have a chance, check out Paris Cafe. Try to go mon thru thurs, cause I think fri and sat are swingers night. Or is it sat and Sun? Oh well, if you go, go early in the week. Should run more or less the same as Barra400 and Ancora. Thanks again for the report.

No Pets Allowed.
Smoking Allowed in the balcony only.
Please avoid making noises during resting hours.
Etc.
My point is that if they don't mention anything about bringing guests, then it's your own business.
Also, as Christopherd mentions, AirBnB is not an agency but a website and you deal, mostly, with particulars trying to make some extra bucks.
You can check their profiles, and get a lot of interesting information about the place, like location and amenities (wi-fi, tv, ac, doorman.).
And, this is very important, the opinion of other users. Which is crucial. People telling their experiences.

Vila Mimosa
I agree with Christopherd. VM is dirty but you really find gems and kinky working girls, that is what we are looking for, or?
I usually take a gem to the Motel Canario, it is clean and you have all the time you need.

VM is for connoisseur of gem-finders in sleazy puteiros.
I'm a big fan of VM, but I've reduced my VM mongering after the prices went up from R$25 to R$35-40.
I don't advise anybody to go to VM, it's dirty, dangerous and the quality of the girls is a very low.
Interesting choice of your alias.

Vila Mimosa
I went to VM one time with my GF when we happened to be nearby. There were a couple of reasonably attractive girls and it was entertaining. However, it is not my thing and I have not been back. I have never gotten the impression that guys who go there sugar coat it here. It is merely an option and I see posts of guys simply describing their experiences with that option.

I'm a big fan of VM, but I've reduced my VM mongering after the prices went up from R$25 to R$35-40.
Myself likewise. I've also felt at times recently they are too focused on the price, whereas before when everyone charged the same it wasn't paramount.
The advantage at the old throwaway prices for me was I could have three shots and if only one of those was excellent it was still great vfm and great fun. But the quantity / looks ratio at current prices has often proved better in Centro this year. The other advantages for me however at VM include the 24/7 opening hours as I like going out late, often arriving at 1am or 2am. It doesn't close at weekends. There's no stairs to traipse up and down. I like to be able to sit outside to have a beer at fairly normal prices. Neither am I averse to supporting the community as long as I am not being ripped off.
I mostly find it a reasonable balance time-wise with Centro for daytime and VM for evenings / nighttime, and Maua plus the north-of-Vargas cheapies as alternatives if they happen to be hooching.
No denying the glitz of Copa or attractions of other areas but I mostly base where I am in RJ on factors other than p4p anyway. I just like it to be available as required, inexpensive and without too much hassle.
I've only ever stayed at Canario by the hour, and agree with Carlos about the cleanliness. Some of the casas at VM are intentionally cramped and off-putting and Canario offers good value. I've also had girls unwilling to go there though. Not just economics but Canario is also in between of several regular Fri / Sat night busy places so not exactly discreet for the 'part-timers. ' Gallant however is like a proper hotel, beautiful reception, spacious breakfast room and all the facilities of a good hotel, and good rates if you stay for several days or a week.

They told me at Barra 400 that Saturday nights are swingers night.
I'll try Paris Cafe beginning of next week.
To be honest the prices are too expensive compering to other countries, but the experience prior going up to the room was great, I felt that I have a real GF with me.
What will be the impression or the chance just to go to these clubs / termas just pay the entrance fee, have drinks and hangout with the girls?
I agree with Christopherd. AirBnB caveat
Also, as Christopherd mentions, AirBnB is not an agency but a website and you deal, mostly, with particulars trying to make some extra bucks. Which is crucial. People telling their experiences.
There are some very nice accommodations on AirBnB. Should you decide to stay in one, you'll be required to pay the FULL rental fee upfront, plus AirBnB fee. All well and good, when things go as planned. However, should something go amiss with your trip, where you have to cancel or postpone, the most you can hope for is 50% return of your rental fee. (IF, the property owner agrees to it.) Owner CAN return 100% but that's not going to happen. AirBnb, keeps their fee, of course. You'll be paying with your home currency too. There may also be a departure cleaning fee depending on the property. The accommodations are run like hotels, with check-in and check-out times. If you have a late departure flight, you maybe Shit out of Luck, unless you come to an agreement with the property owner. On the plus side, it's all done very efficiently. Proceed with caution.
