As for safety as a Brazilian poster put it, there is a military police station (PMERJ) right outside of VM. I recon'ed it in the daylight.

The advantage at the old throwaway prices for me was I could have three shots and if only one of those was excellent it was still great vfm and great fun. No denying the glitz of Copa or attractions of other areas but I mostly base where I am in RJ on factors other than p4p anyway. I just like it to be available as required, inexpensive and without too much hassle.

I've only ever stayed at Canario by the hour, and agree with Carlos about the cleanliness. Some of the casas at VM are intentionally cramped and off-putting and Canario offers good value. I've also had girls unwilling to go there though. Not just economics but Canario is also in between of several regular Fri / Sat night busy places so not exactly discreet for the 'part-timers. ' Gallant however is like a proper hotel, beautiful reception, spacious breakfast room and all the facilities of a good hotel, and good rates if you stay for several days or a week.[/QUOTE]

Thanks for the info, I checked with a motel reception clerk and was told today (Monday, Oct 15) is two holidays, teacher's day + day of the shopkeepers or something like that (They were hard pressed with the translation) so I will start with Anne's and see how it goes.

Friday was a national holiday. But today Monday is a day a lot of the Unions get as a holiday. And everyone who works in Brazil, pretty much, has to join a union. For example all of our programmers are part of the "data entry union". I shit you not. Our accountants (in Centro) were therefore closed today and so were a LOT of other businesses. But I guess the Centro T's are open.

Quick report :

Lots of dudes, when I went in at 5:15. A few came into change into robes. Middle aged locals just out for the mid-evening fuck I guess.

The rates are : 60 entrada +260 for an hour in a cabine (was planning to and did fuck my favorite, so didn't even ask about the 40 minute option)

Once my girl came in, grabbed her and went up. Spent more than an hour, going for two rounds and a lot of catching up, at least 15 mins after the knock on the door.

While waiting in the boate for about 40 mins, saw Lavinia working rather hard, chatting up guys and quickly moving onto the next but still lovely as ever.

Some girls are gone, there are quite a few new young ones compared to my last trip.

The bar and counter staff are the same but no requests for tips this time, I even got my dois reais back.

Will have to checkout T502 and / or T65 tomorrow. Any one up for it, let me know.

Last time there the prices were BR50 for entrada and BR240 for an hour in the cabine. That was about 2 months ago. Believe me; the price is still the biggest bang for your buck in Rio, but really disappointed in the price increase department. What are the other rates now for like a Super, the King's and the Sultan's suit prices? Just curious and I'm sure others will like the word from the ground. Thank you for the outstanding report.
