Just arrived yesterday in BKK, staying at the President Solitaire. Planned to get som rest after a being heavyily jet-lagged from Europe, but unfortunately Nana Plaza was calling me.
Was there arround 2300 (Sunday). Place seemed to be busy, as many mentioned just a little less due to the regular low-season period rather than any protests. Only thing I noticed was that there was alot more Asians (mainly Japanese) than Europeans/Americans. At the moment I did not experience any problem getting to and from the airport, and nothing noted in the Nana-area. The pubs arround the plaza area were all open.
Ended up picking a girl from Lollipop, #89. Quite cute, even if there were some that I liked more in the club. Here attitude was great though, also back at the room, even though I did feel somewhat rushed, and the ST was on the really shorter side.
She gave me some bullshit about wanting to party with me the next day, but I said I would probably be going to Cowboy. And then I get the "I don't like butterflies" line, even if it was with a more light-hearted tone.
Overall damage 1500 (ST) + 600 (BF).
Will check Cowboy tomorrow.

It's the ONLY place they've heard of, and if you say you didn't, they will say then that you really didn't see the "naughty" Bangkok, even though they don't know crap, even if you saw the "better" parts such as Soi Cowboy. Patpong has become a place for [i]civilian[/i] tourists who want to say they've seen the "naughty" bkk.
The ground floor bars are safe; it's the upstairs ones where some caution and a guide are suggested.
So, go to [b]Cowboy[/b] or Nana, find a girl you like, get along with, bar fine her, and have her take you to Patpong. She will want to go to see what it's like, check out the competition and possible future work place. She will also watch out for you, as the more money you have (as in not lose), the more she can try and remove for herself.
Almost 2 decades later, I still remember my [i]guide's[/i] comment after seeing the "pussy drink coke" show (girl inverts, inserts bottle of coke, drains it, then turns right side up and refills the bottle): "I'll never drink coke again."

I also dislike Climax nowadays. It's because the place has a bad setup. If you come early you get a place at a table and you are stuck on it. It's dark and so you will not be able to see possible stunners in other parts of the club. Normally the service staff will place some girls around you, but often not the pretty ones. So, I don't like to come early.
If you come late, the place is packed and you have to stay at the walkways, which is a royal pain in the ass, since hundreds of guests and even more staff will bump you. It's pure stress without much fun. Also, there are usually some girls I know from former hollydays, which can be Ok, but I am rather interested to see new girls, instead have the old ones around me.
Spicey, Boss, Nana Liquid or Bossy are much more convinient IMHO.
I do not like Spicey too much, because there are often the Khao San british youngsters and they are often insane.
Nana Liquid is rather small and the girls there are often the same you can find at Nana Car Park. But, the prices are Ok and there is no cover charge. They have a life band and there is a guy whose I saw often in Lucifer in Pattaya. A black guy who sung in the life band at Lucifer. Maybe he is now running the band in Nana Liquid.
I weren't in Boss, this time. So, I can't say how it is nowadys.
Bossy was very good the last days. Many girls and most likely customer, from CM2, Spassos, Conrad Hotel and The Tunnel are now there. There are many girls from the middle East, Russia and of course because of that many Indians and Middle Eastern guys. Seems those guys seriously prefer white flesh. Nevertheless I like the place, because it's quite convinient, good lighting and I think smoking is prohibited. Also, there is often a struggle between Indians and the Club security. It's always funny to see how those guys get electro shocked and forced out of the club, buy the club security if they try resistance.

If you really want to experience a "specific" place there you ahould not omitt SOL bar in Patpong II. Ground floor, of course.
