With Europe being shut down to us Americans, a friend and I will be spending New Years in Cartagena. Any recommendations by chance on decent chica friendly places to stay?
Just booked a room with Juan Ventura in Laguito for Dec. 18-21. Used to be the rooms were booked solid the week of Christmas with families from Colombia in Cartagena. Is anyone there now? Is tourism down a lot because of the virus? Am guessing the amount of girls at the clocktower will be down too, compared to last year? Any thought?

Is it legit?[/QUOTE]As I have stated in previous posts in this thread I stay away from websites because I hear to many times about how the photos do not match the chica that shows up. I cannot say anything good or bad about this site but when I go to La Dolce Vita or the Plaza de LOS Coches by the clock tower I can not only walk around and "shop" around looking at the selection and see their body live and up close. I can also talk to them and weed out any chica that I may not want to spend time with if they seem annoying.

Clock tower pub is open so far under previous reservation on their website, The nightlife has been returning to normal little by little, but many places remain closed, if you are interested, I can guide you in the southern part of the city, it is much less expensive and if you are well accompanied it is safe too. I live here in Cartagena and any help you need is at your service.

Just keep in mind that this is the tropics and no matter what time of year you go the humidity will fall on you like a wall as soon as you get off the plane (There are no jet bridges so if its raining you get wet walking down the steps to the apron, if its not raining than you just get the humidity and heat) the early summer is good but the months of August and Sept start to get more rain and October is the worse. I have been there in Sept / Oct and even during the rainy times there is often a downpour for less than an hour and then that is it for the day. It is not as bad as monsoon season in Southeast Asia by a long shot. I sat in my bungalow on an Thailand's Island Phi Phi Don and watched the rain an the palm trees going sideways in the wind.
I do not understand why you would say " I realize that chica selection will be poor" when you are talking about summer, summer is when it gets good in my opinion, lots of chicas fly in from other cities to make money. And there are beaches even as we speak but you just have t make a reservation, Now this year everything is depending on how long it takes to roll out this vaccine and get things close to normal again. I think by summer it should be well on its way. The economy there has taken a bad hit but I am a firm believer that capitalism will combine with Cartagena being a land of opportunity and it will bounce back fast. May not all the same players in the restaurant and hotel businesses but money never sleeps and it will find its way to open new things to replace the old.
