This type of credit card scam happens all the time in Roppongi with all the gaijins and tourists. It is never smart to follow a tout anywhere. I simply avoid them, pretend I don't speak English. I even sometimes speak to them in my native Eastern European language so they leave me alone. If I'm with a female the Nigerian touts leave me a lone.

With the Roppongi scam, touts try to gets gaijins into their clubs / bars. Once they get in there they buy a drink. Somehow their drink gets spiked (sometimes even from the bar tender themselves) with some drug. Before you know it the tourist does not remember a thing and next day he finds a huge credit card bill.

This type of scam was even documented on the US Embassy website warning tourists about this scam.

He argued with the bank as persuasively as he could, but they wouldn't budge! After a few more phone calls to them, they refused to talk to him any more about the issue.

I'm sure that his case is on the outer limits of kabukicho scams, but it's worth remembering that it can (and sometimes does) happen. Stay away from the Nigerian touts trying to funnel you into their club. The funnel will go up your ass to your pocket, scoop up your wallet, and deposit it straight into their cash register!

To be totally honest I find it a little difficult to really pity anyone who follows a Nigerian tout (!) in Tokyo (!) anywhere. That's probably just natural selection. A fool and his money, you know? I've never even been approached by one.

The NGU stuff sounds totally plausible to me. Picked up a bug from Strawberry Club over the summer, as did many others as reported both here and on other forums. Some seem to have picked them up in other pink salons. Also had the girl at Jan Jan ask to use a condom for the first time in 30 visits. Good chance something was / is going around. You're talking about women who take 10-20 loads in their mouth in an 8 hour period, mostly from Japanese guys who never wear condoms even with hookers. What do you really expect?

Net a few months back, and I don't want to see anyone here burned. Wednesday night I called them up, asked for Non, and they sent me a chubby girl. Had tests and came back neg for gonorrhea and chlamydia, but the doc said it was definitely a form of STD as I mentioned originally. I got it from Risu without a doubt in my mind.

I think Rick was strictly just listing Shinjuku-based places, not all of Tokyo. The Tokyo number is probably 10 times that number when you include all the rub and tug places, 'massage' places that provide full service, other pink salons, delivery / hotel health places, and soaplands, although many of those require some Japanese language ability.

I myself called up a Shinjuku Korean DH place ([url]http://asian-d.com[/url]. Only accessible using a browser Japan IP and a browser set to Japanese character set) in the last week or so, and they had no problems sending out a girl (Some Japanese language required, obviously). However, there was only one girl they were willing to send out, and while she was fun and a cool chick (and spoke English very well actually) she wasn't anywhere near advertised, so I can't exactly recommend them.

On a final note, people that follow aggressive touts to places they haven't been before, or their close friends haven't been before, and pay large amounts of cash or turn over their credit cards, are suckers. Sorry.

Can I ask what you mean by "Japanese character set" on a web browser? I often cannot access KDH webpages and I guess this is why.

I just tend to be exceedingly careful when it comes to hobbying. I've TOFTT several times, and gotten burned a few of those times, and shared intel regardless, so I know about embarrassing situations. But I see new stories of people getting robbed or bait and switched by Nigerian touts as a broken record. I don't really consider it valuable information because a) if you read this or other sex forums about Japan, people should know to not even talk to those guys. If you were to create a FAQ about hobbying in Japan, that would be one of the top 5 things mentioned. Be) they aren't identifying anything in particular, either the tout or the venue in question (it's understandable that they probably can't) , and see) they aren't mentioning a solution, either. If they said 'tout robbed me of 50, 000 Yen, I went to the Kabukicho koban and there was a police officer there that spoke fluent English, I calmly explained the situation, filed a report, and got my money back', THAT would be valuable information (none of that would actually happen, of course).

Maybe some day there will be enough foreigners out there, or the Nigerian touts will rob / swindle the wrong guy and the police will crack down on them, but I cynically believe they are just a force of nature and come with the territory. I don't make eye contact and I don't acknowledge their existence, and they eventually get the idea.

So KDH's are very careful about who they want seeing their site, I think primarily because however photoshopped they are, they do really show girl's faces. I guess they don't want that exposure back home in Seoul. Without getting too technical, when you visit a website, all sorts of basic information is passed along: what kind of computer and browser you are using, your IP address, what the acceptable language sets to use are, etc. Google uses this info to magically serve you google. Co. Jp when you are in Japan even if you type in google. Com, as a prime example.

The Korean sites use these to make sure you are their target customer before giving you the page. Otherwise, they will do stuff like say the site is down or redirect you to yahoo. Co. Jp (that's a really popular one). This happens with most of the Uguisudani-based KDHs, and also with the kanphoto. Net site.

You can get around this by changing your preferred character set to Japanese. On my version of Firefox for example, go into Preferences, then Content, then Languages, and add Japanese and move it to the top of the list. While this should have no effect when using websites that only serve one language (ie, English) , you might run into situations where it'll serve you a JP page because Japanese is at the top of your list. If you want to avoid that, install a second browser and change the language settings on that browser instead of your default one.

I'm also not sure if there's a location block or not- I haven't visited the KDH sites when I'm in the US, only when I'm in Japan, but when I enable VPN back to the states, most of the KDH sites go offline at that point. It might be because my language settings aren't getting passed on by the VPN provider. Anyway, hope this helps.

The thing is that I was wearing my suit and all and have normally no problems in getting in to shops in other parts of the town. Most of the tenchos just refused me as soon as they saw my white face.

Some of them were very apologizing when they found out I speak the language but still stated they have strict no foreigners rule. I guess Sunday was also not the best time to visit as many of the places seemed to be quite full of local customers. In one place I visited they had the queue out to the stairway with guys reading manga to kill the time.

Probably everyone who has contributed to the board has some sort of story where, despite their best efforts and research (RTFF, getting PMs, etc.) the experience is far from excellent. i do know, and have been to more than half of the places you mention. thery are indeed fun places, and that is why i saidi like wandering in shinjuku. but asian relax and asian feeling are barely am place where a cloithed women massges you and delivers a hj at the end.

what i meant to say is that for "more" you need to explore other areas, yoshiwara, ueno, some places in yokohama, nippori and others i don't remember, where fs can be had.
