Sorry guys, I would love to spill more beans from my recent encounter with the weatherman (spend some 8 hrs enjoying their hospitality) but given my 'celebrity' status now I have to be careful since I am not a passing tourist. Lets just conclude here that my main purpose was to show the other side of things when you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. What I saw / experienced made quite an impression on me (subjective, I know) and I have to continue my life here. But what most surprised me was the well organized nature of the weather bureau, their intel and ability to dedicate large resources to their efforts (around 60 FTE were helping out at the storm site that day). The speed of weather change from happiness to despair and chaos among the pedestrians when lightning struck will be in my memory forever. Also some were physically 'cared' for, grown up man were crying.
Now, you can all put this aside as minor mishap etc, but it is like a traffic accident you read about in the paper, what is the chance it will happen to you? But just think for a moment about your course of action. Also, since I can not remember reading in this forum an eye witness account of a heavy rain storm, I thought it useful to share my personal travel experiences. However, if some members find the language / info to generic, so be it!
Now back to the main news.
Thank you. That is the clearest thing you wrote. Now I get it. Safe hobbies. This is also why I have always been a coward around Saunas but have (I guess) taken risks in MPs. I would probably be one of those crying so I won't judge. Do you think / know if this was reported to peoples employers?
