Would these busts spread?
Besides Balcony, do you think these prostitution raids will spread beyond Balcony? Monte Carlo, Solarium? 4x4, centro termas? Rio Branco apartments?
Take it off the strip and you could make millions!
And it was done in such a hamfisted manner that they basically probably caught up 20 "normal" mongers out of the 40 named suspects. Apparently there have been plainclothes police at Balcony most nights observing who goes there. I would like to see Balcony closed. I think it brings a bad element to this side of Copa and attracts the wrong kind of gringo, as well. But I really resent the brutal approach of the Police here. You basically have no rights as a Brazilian citizen or resident, once a judge gets involved. If they have a search warrant, they are busting down your door and pointing a gun at your head even if you just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Rule of law is very superficial, it seems.
-Cartman
I wonder if some of those mongers didn't even have minors in their apartments just regular working girls from Balcony. I think the article said something about finding "condoms" at a monger's apartment, like that is illegal. Looks like the best way to fight this is to have the girl meet you at your apartment instead of leaving with them.
It looks like the powers that be do not want any P4P on the copa strip where it can be seen! I mentioned it on here before and I will say it again. There is a PERFECT location for a new Help just one block away from Balcony, I think it is a African social club now. (Belfort Roxo and Nossa Senhora) Its off the strip, so you can not see it when driving down Atlantico, its a big ass club that can hold a lot of people. And most important, it is easily accessible. I cant believe that nobody has bought that place and made a fortune by naking it the new help.
Rio is changing for the worse.
i've been rtffing on several sites including trip advisor and google. noticed vila mimosa is the rdl? is it still the spot? i read one article where it said the government was cracking down on it.
thanks for your time though. i appreciate you taking the comment on my post. i'll continue my research. oh and in your opinion, are the carnivals a must see? really fun?
thanks,
yg
it seems vila mimosa is, and has always been, respected by goverment. so much that every time the close it down, they provide a new place for it. this is planned when they close down vm next time, due to the projected bullet train rio sao paulo.
brazil continues to be great with the same scene and excellent selection. the only exception is copacabana.
unfortunately brazil has become more expensive. not a big problem if you skip the expensive termas etc.
i agree that the forum is being quite dead right now. i look on the bright side, less gringos is an advantage for the gringos who go to brazil.
sperto, if you do not notice that p4p is going downhill in brazil, you are not watching. i wish i had comments from our expert, macunaima, which was scared away from here due to a lot of stupid commenters.
40 years ago brazil was a single working girl house with red light districts in every little town. 30 years ago girls were standing at street corners downtown at 5 pm, lapa was full of whoring boites, all the richest women and wives of rich men were working girls. 20 years ago. i don't want to mention names, but believe me i am talking some the richest of brazil, if not in the world.
20 years ago nata, fortaleza, manaus were tourist meccas full of girls everywhere. truck stops had girls lingering everywhere. termas were us$20 for brazilians, and trash places were us$2. apartments were all over and vm was a big area with lots of dingy houses.
10 years ago i was accosted by madams and pimps daily offering new catch. all have either been imprisoned, and stopped for fear of the law and police.
and now, if a gringo friend wants a girl sunday at 2 pm, there is only starcris. com with 2 fat dogs to choose from. correct me if i am wrong. what is outside of copacabana? 10% of what was there 20 years ago. how many new houses opened in the last 5 years. compare that with the number of closures. karlamodels and scortshow closed.
yes, still something left, thank god. but with this female feminist government, things don't look good. i should not say this, but i like to go to oase in frankfurt for cheap quality beauties in safe clean police-free environment.
several major police raids occurred this morning in copacabana related to "**** sex"/"sexual abuse of minors" and the balcony prostitution / drug trade. was reported in o globo and other journals. police forcibly entered several residences and seized "evidence" that ranged apparently from actual films of **** girls to simply legal products associated with sex (e. g, condoms, panties). apparently all part of a targeted effort to shut down balcony, as well as complaints from a mother of the alleged **** victim.
apparently a tv station did an expose recently about the **** sex trade in rocina, which prompted the police into more drastic action.
i once wrote an article about **** avoidance. it is essential to never even walk with a girl (that looks under 35) without checking for i'd, checking if it looks fake, and ideally taking a photo so the girl does not show another 17y i'd once police shows up. balcony is dangerous
add to that that a recent police raid unearthed 7 girls with rohypnol, ready to drug and rob unsuspecting gringos.

and yes, lots of gringos are stupid enough to risk $100 k in bribes by going with girls without a serious i'd check. very dangerous. and if you are american, you risk being jailed again in the us for kissing a 17 year old.
spam to follow:
i am always glad for people who can bring me shopping items from the us (yes, i pay cost, of course). i try to give advice, where possible. but advice does not come by as easily as it used to be. feel free to visit. i think some of the regulars or residents like sperto, macunaima, bubba, christopherd! feel free to stop by and say hi, i live 3 blocks away from where help was.
i still rent suites in my apartment http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showthread.php?3281-brazil-specialist-s-rental-apartments
