First Report on this Side of the World
I relocated to Oman a month ago from the US, and decided to take a weekend trip to Dubai for a little Ikea and a little recreation. I stayed at Karama Hotel, thinking I could take it easy with no shuffling around, but alas, the policy there has changed, and mismatched couples are not allowed upstairs.
So early evening, I was at Karama and popped into the sports bar. To and from the lobby saw a nice collection of African ladies dressed to kill. But I was itching for a Fili girl, so I wandered into Ratsky's just before 11pm, and I would say there were 50+ girls there. Not impressed by the selection, though, as they were tending toward chubby. As luck would have it, a very attractive Fili girl (stage name Vicki) , mid 20's, slim, just walked up to me and made a very friendly intro. Basically, I was the western looking middle-aged type of guy she preferred (probably has to do with likely depth of wallet). We hung out managing passable conversation, then negotiated a long time rate. Had to leave Karama, catch a cab, and ended up at a place called Aftar (?) hotel in Deira. Damage there 300 dh for a room, cash, no registration.
Got a nice girlfriend treatment with BJ, massage, sex, sleep, massage, BJ, sex. Very talkative lady. By the time I dropped her in the cab (total elapsed maybe 12 hours) I was ready for some peace and quiet.
Total damage for the evening about 1, 200 dh (drinks, hotel, girl). Probably gave her 100 dh too much, but I considered her to be at the upper end of the looks scale (an 8) so worth it at the time. Upon return to Karama, a CIS girl walking out as I walked in gave me the look. Oh well, maybe next time.
Your right it's not that simple
This is an interesting post. I agree with you completely about the morally consensual aspect but where do you draw the line. I know for a fact that there are several groups of Fili's in the Seaview that did not come here to work in the flesh trade and have to pay back credit and the only way is to do what they have to do. That is trafficking in my opinion but you only find out when you know them a little better.
I know this is different to some of the recent reports in the press about being locked up in apartments etc. But its just a different level of coercion.
I don't think you can ever be completely sure you are not with a girl trafficked or coerced even if you ask.
Don't get me wrong I agree with you and had a policy of trying to make sure I didn't have girls with handlers / pimps / managers in the past but its cloudy at best.
This isn't a criticism of your post, I just don't think its very simple.
Having said that, the large majority of the girls I have gotten to know over the years came to Dubai, (you can substitute Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, etc) knowing that they were going to be involved with the "biz" in some form or the other.
Most of them have friends or the like in the biz, which is how they get "connected" to the mama's, agents, etc in the first place. I also expect the large majority have been involved at some level in their home country or are leaving specifically because they don't want to take the chance of being caught at home, and know the "return" money wise is much better abroad (I am speaking mostly about the Phils, Thai, Viet, and PRC gals). I also attribute this to the reason you rarely find very young girls. 18-21yr old (thankfully IMHO) outside their home country.
I am aware that this is not the profession of choice for most of them, but they do choose to walk that path for the most part. Does this make it coercion, I guess that is up for individual opinion.
I, like most of us, don't find kidnapping, fear of physical abuse, funding a drug habit (hers or someone else's) , or the like tolerable. I would not knowingly be a customer of someone in this situation, it is deplorable. I would tread lightly though when it comes to interfering with the people that run these operations. That is of course unless you have considerable resources at your disposal. This is a large money stream for them and the very fact they are able to continue to operate it, tells me they are not without means themselves. Someone trying to disrupt that stream is likely to find themselves in a test of wills with some pretty unsavory characters. I could be wrong about all of this. It wouldn't be the first time!
