I've been out of the digital camera market for a while. Can anyone recommend a good digital camera in the 10 megapixel range that is light weight and slim enough to fit in your pocket? Anyone except the Canon Digital Elph. Had that one before and it's not as slim as I would like it to be (makes a bulge in your pocket). Plus that one got jacked by either the Dominicans or TSA somewhere between POP and MIA International on the return flight. I was smart enough to remove the SD card though :)
Bro,
Forget about Digital Elph, they are outdated, try this new camera www.lytro.com.399$ will get you a very compact camera,
Once you take the picture using this camera, you can focus on any part you want! By just clicking on the photo. ISG member will be very happy.
To focus on every part of the picture you are going to post. Good Luck.
Here's the deal bro. A lot of new cell phones that are coming out have at least a 8 megapixel camera and 1080i video. But from what I understand anything over 8 megapixels you won't really notice the difference unless you are blowing them up to a wall murell type picture. My camera is 15 megapixels but after experimenting with it I've noticed its the best at slowing down moving objects. If your thinking about upgrading you cell it might be a good idea to get a good camera. Bro I keep my laptop, camera. Cell, passport, and important documents in my carry on bag. POP got me for an 100usd bottle of cologne one time but now they only get old spice. For what you invest in agood digital camera you might be better of investing in agood cell phone, unless you do pro photography.
Yeah, I wasn't paying attention and should have know better. I also only carry my laptop and camera in my carry-on but for some strange reason I tossed it into my check baggage that time while packing up my stuff.
The one thing I hate about electronics these days is that they make everything so redundant. I like that Lumix and it is in the price range I was looking for, but it also shoots HD video. I already have a Panasonic HDC-TM55K camcorder that will take 5MP photos, so it will probably be a waste of money to buy a video-shooting digital camera. Plus for me, holding a camcorder while "doing the do" works out a lot better then trying to record "the do" while holding a digital camera, lol. But yeah, for "touristy" type photos (outside of the bedroom) I might still consider the Lumix. The main drawback to camera phones is that they don't have a flash feature (which would be useful in MP settings ;)).

Camera
I have a canon powershot g12. I been really happy with the images I get with it. It may be alittle bit big but still fit in a pants pocket. The canon s100 pretty much have the sane stuff as the g12, but with better processor, faster lens, and smaller.
Damn, this one is even better price-wise. Thanks!
They make cameras smaller all the time and better. If you have an ABC warehouse in your area the typically have closeout cameras cheap and Walmart usually has clearance cameras at each store. I think I have had about 20 digital cameras Sony was my favorite but too big for my pocket but now my Canon is my favorite the 780IS I guess is the name of it but I travel with an Olympus Shock proof waterproof with floatable handle (bought my last one on Ebay) that I take to beach and underwater nudies at times. Be sure you get camera with lithium rechargeable battery those AA battery cameras suck.
Damn, this one is even better price-wise. Thanks!
I had a $400US camera stolen in DR years ago. My trip this past July, I was on the second floor balcony of a hotel in Juan Dolio, the camera slipped out of my hand, hit the floor and slid off the balcony, it didn't work after that (that was a $140US camera).
Now, a not very expensive camera is good enough for me in DR.

Sosua is "DEAD"
People keep posting that "Sosua is dead " "it is not like it used to be ".
Well I have been in Sosua at least 1 time per Month since Jan (2011)
. During the day & early evening (10AM .7 PM) the chicas are 5 to 1.
At Night from 9. The sun comes up the ratio is "ONLY" 10 chicas to 1.
I don know how it used to be but for me this is a pretty good ratio.
If this is what they are calling DEAD. Then I love dead.
Whts bad about her? I know a dude that wifes her up for several days. Is the pussy good? She a freak?
don't get me wrong, she is a fun girl. I think she actually likes some guy from the USA. Because she is thinking about marrying this guy. And I could tell she was preoccupied, and that wasntlike in any past experiences, so I ask her and she said she does love this gringo from USA. I just wanted to pay for 5 day service. A small little package name ruby was a much better time, I came accross at classico. Needless to say I wished her all the best, because there is a good heart in that girl. She isn't scamming like a lot of these girls!

I go back and forth on getting a camera, haven't owned one since my last Sony gave out on me. To me, it doesn't make much sense when most of newer smartphones have 5-8 meg cameras with HD video. I wouldn't pay more than 200 dollars for one, and I would need extra bells and whistles, like the ability to zoom into a bunda yards away, being able to take underwater pics, and 3D pics-those features places me in the resale / refurbished market since a camera with those specs falls in 300-400 dollar range.

I have way too much stuff on my smartphone, it stays in the safe.

canon will release a new camera soon, the s100. it's compact and will be the first to have the canon digic 5 image processor. 12 mp, wide angle pictures, hdmi output. 1080p video, a high speed video (slow-motion) mode, gps tagging, you can just turn on only the gps and you can look where your camera has been traveling (put it in your wife's car) a high-tech lens that will let in more light, iso has been bumped up to 6400, shoots 2. 3 pictures a second continuous (depending on mode,) or a special mode to shoot 8 pictures in less than a second, and a high quality 3 inch screen.
but this thing will start at $429. rumor says some bestbuy stores have sold some already. something that kind of freaked me out is i was playing with my iphone 4 yesterday and there was an option to view my pictures by where it was taken. sure enough it shows a world map with a folder of pictures from thailand, the dr, my city, my parents house, brothers house, ect ect. i know i disabled the iphone from keeping my gps locations on it. good thing i'm single or a sneaky lady could see i have been all over the place.

I usually take my iPhone with me while traveling but I only use it as an alarm clock and always keep it locked up in the safe outside of that. I can stand to lose a $75 camera, but my entire life is on my smart phone, LOL.
