So decided to go to Metropolitan hotel on a weekend night (which is Thursday and Friday nights in Dubai). Went last Thursday night. Got there around 10:30-11pm.
The place is really a "compound". There's a courtyard with seating, large screen tv showing English football and a one-man live music act. There's an English pub off to one side, which is where I grabbed some food first. There's also two other clubs inside the hotel. Platinum and iLounge. Not sure what kind of clubs these are. But in both clubs there's guy in suits at the door, red carpeting, etc. Platinum was advertising a girls nights. Didn't see many people go in or out but wasnt paying too much attention. Right next to Metropolitan is a movie cineplex. It was still open around midnight becuase I went inside to use their ATM. So yeah now it makes sense why there are so many cabs there all the time.
The Rattlesnake bar was packed. Line up to get in. Cover on weekend night is 85 ($23). Girls are paying the cover too. Inside see mostly the same girls as other nights. Maybe a few new faces. But looks like theres way more guys than girls tonight. Lots of people on the dance floor too. Hung out there for a while. But it way too crowded for my style. Stayed until they closed at 3am, to see what the scene was then. Music stops around 2:45am. Staff is very particular about close exactly at 3am. Outside girls are waiting around, waiting last minute. Lots of negotiating going on now. Taxi scene is a good area to be in. See girls readily going for 800 AED for all night (which at this time of night will probably be around 3-4 hours). Bouncers are particular that girls get off the property. I left around 3:30am.
Next day went to check out Panorama hotel (Jockey club) around 9:30-10pm. Cover is 50 AED. Drinks are 23 AED. Good mix of girls, Chinese, turkish, eastern europe, a few Filipino's and a few blacks. Its a small place. Got very crowded around 11pm onwards. Girls asking 300-400 for ST and 1000 for LT. Saw several good looking girls. Since drinks here are cheaper than most other places, I ended up getting somewhat tipsy. Ended up taking this blonde 25 year old Georgian girl back with me. Good attitude, nice face, somewhat short and bit chunky in the mid section. But overall not bad.

After a long time away, finally back in Dubai, so what better way to spend the night than bar hopping? Always good to have a theme, so today it was Pinoy clubs. Promised myself not to take a lady home, just to have a few drinks, exploring the various venues. A few people were waiting in front of the door, but the club was closed. Some problem with the key of the front door. I asked when they would open the door, but a shrugged 'could be tomorrow' was the answer. Not going to wait that long.
So off to the next club, a club called Rocky's Café in the Regent Palace Hotel. Recommended by fellow board members so worth a shot. Immediately upon entry (which was 50dh. 1 free drink, not waved even though it was still early at 10PM) , I was approached by a beautiful lady. . . A good start. . . Until she asked me what I would like to drink. . . Sigh, why is it always that the waitresses are the most beautiful in places like this?
The early hour must have been the reason why the club was next to empty and why the band felt free to play a crappy version of some vague AC / DC song. Of course, they're careful not to pick a song everybody knows, that would be sooo uncool. . . And the fact that the lady singers are anything but hot didn't help either. Playing AC / DC way too loud, in a room that's way too empty, nope, not doing it for me, time to move on.
Off to Club Se7en in the Park Regis Hotel. Still very empty at 10:30, but you wouldn't tell it if you looked at the band: highly enthousiastic, sexy ladies and you could tell they were having fun. Giving it all to an empty room, what's that spelled? Yup, R. E. S. P. E. C. T. Great version of Nena's 99 Red Balloons, which easily has the best pumping bass lines ever. Also their rendering of Bruno's The Way You Are was excellent. Too bad the club was empty, but no doubt it would pick up later in the evening.
Time to move on to a hidden gem, according to Time Out Dubai. The club is called Kuya Disco and it's located in the Nihal hotel in Deira. The place was roughly half packed at around 11PM, a good sign, I seemed to be the only foreigner, another good sign, and the band played lots of Pinoy songs, excellent sign if you're looking for that authentic Philipinne experience. Forget about findings WGs here, this is all about regular pinoys having a great time.
Like other places, the waitresses were really hot in here, and the ladies in the band were equally sexy.
So I took out my cell phone and started to record the band, I'm always willing to give a club I like free publicity by uploading to YouTube, but not this time: the bouncer immediately stepped in and told me that recording is not allowed. Well, ok, no problem, so I put my phone away. For some reason, he didn't really trust me because he kept standing in front of me for at least 5 minutes. WTF? Yes, I am the only white guy in the club. Visited Seaview last night. Crowded, loud band, No one realy caught my eye when I was there.
