But at 39 peso per 1 US v. 2.3 reais per 1 US. I go no higher. I do the fucking the girls don't. I also get what I want in Sosua. Plus I stay at a nice hotel in Sosua for $65 US a night with breakfast, where in Rio the same is equal to $100 US a night.
I hear you. Thing is I don't necessarily like doing all the work when I'm paying. I can beat my own meat at home and do all the work. I'm in this for the kick ass experience not for a chick that I do all the work with. Last time I was in Rio I literally got a 45 min BJ from a chick at my apt. In Sosua most of the girls are too lazy to even do half of that. They'll be complaining,"papi, papi" before too long. There is a difference of about $50 BTW a pick up off the streets of Rio (I pay 200 BRL) and the streets in sosua. Obviously the termas are more expensive. In my humble opinion the service in Rio kicks the crap out of Sosua on it's worse day.

For a while I was going 5 times a year but now once. Now I go other places. Rio is getting boring. For example, we've only had one "Report of Distinction" in a long time. Thanks Sherrod!
No way you can find a nice hotel in Rio for 100 us$.
Prosal, I get frequent client status at the Rio Roiss. I also found two hotels that are better than Rio Roiss in Niteroi for less. I've given up on the overprice roach and bed bug infest Copa and Ipanema apartments long ago.
As a side note, according to Mercer 2012 survey (Cost of Living worldwide rankings) , Sao Paulo (12) and Rio de Janeiro (13) are the most expensive cities for expatriates across both North and South America (New York is 33rd). London is 25th.
True. But with several years experience I can live better for less in Rio, as opposed to SP, which kicks the crap out of my wallet.
True. But with several years experience I can live better for less in Rio, as opposed to SP, which kicks the crap out of my wallet.
Come on Guy's, share this wealth of information. That's two recent postings with the above sentiment, but no Hard info. Sure, simple enough, stay out of Copa and Ipanema. I believe Chris likes to stay in Centro hotels, IIRC. But staying there limits ones weekends options: Vila Minosa and Lapa, metro to Copa, taxi back to centro.
A recent search for accommodations in Botagofo and Lapa areas were just as expensive as Copa. And there were not that many places. I've visited Nitoroi once, many years ago. But besides the New Jack City building, what else is there to do there?
As the World Cup and Olympics draw nearer, I fear these places outside of Copa will also become outrageously expensive. But that's in the future, let's help a fellow monger who's planning a trip in the next month or two by providing more informative posts. (Insert Big Smiley here.) thanks in advance.

That's a nice thought, more informative posts. The few informative reports shared in this thread quickly gets burrowed in tons of posts complaining on how expensive everything has become and how everything was better before. It doesn't encourage anybody to share new information.

Not to mention insane prices in termas around 350-400 reais for 40 min. Nobody cares to go there anymore for mongering.
LMAO! Stop it man. You're out of your mind if you think mongering in London can be compared to Rio or anywhere in Brazil for that matter. This has to be a joke. 4x4 costs me about $130 (I don't drink). So you mean to tell me you're banging working girls in London for $65 or like 45GBP? Man that is an insane statement. LOL!
I know a madam in London and guess what. Tonight was my first night in London. I paid UK120 pounds for a 5 8" super hot blond whos 19 years old for a programma, BBBJ and anal. She was so freakin hot that she's gona meet me after my Sat night party in stretford London. F* Brazilian pricks. I'm havin a world class time with world class chiks. [blue][Deleted by Admin][/blue]

I could be mistaken but I thought the thread was meant to be used for sharing information, not to be crying about that it used to be cheaper. That doesn't really help the mongers who still goes to Rio and appreciate updated information.
That doesn't really help the mongers who still goes to Rio and appreciate updated information.
The fact that Rio (and more globally, Brasil) is ridiculously expensive now IS an updated information (rolleyes) , maybe more useful for the monger than the nth report about pay-per-minute nightmare prostitutes.
Come on Guy's, share ., let's help a fellow monger who's planning a trip in the next month or two by providing more informative posts. (Insert Big Smiley here.) thanks in advance.
Most of the info is there for those that need it. People whining somewhere else is better phooey. And in the somewhere else forums are people whining that somewhere somewhere else is better. Just to say how wonderful a time they are having.
I mentioned SP is pricier for me because I am less experienced there. I have to work each area from ground zero. But in Rio, I'm more at home. Earlier this year I didn't stay at my usual rental, so took an AirBnB place in Leme for a while, then used two other locations elsewhere in the city for the rest of my trip.
It's pretty simple, but doesn't suit many people. My standard format, which anyone can do, is arrive with only a small bag. I can walk around and look at places that aren't readily visible online. I come to Rio for Brasil, not the mongering. But I find enough mongering to keep me satisfied. I've no interest in 4x4.type places.
Most of the info is there for those that need it.
That's true. IMO the most valuable information to be added are updates on privês, as privês are the most priceworthy mongering options, and their locations changes often. Unfortunately those updates are almost non-existent in this thread.
I'll soon spend about 4 months in Brazil, and as usual I'll visit every privê I can find. No way that I'll post another privê-list on this board. I rather exchange privê updates by PM with a few chosen forum members.

Classy, as usual (and, as usual, a bit embittered towards the posters who don't see Brasil through pink-tinted lens). No wonder that the lower-end options are your most favorite hunting grounds.
