I had a great time in Cartagena. Colombian families are not in Cartagena because of the virus, they are staying home completely. About 20% of the number of people that normally come for the Christmas season. Streets are vacant except for the taxi drivers and annoying street vendors.
Many girls at the clock tower. Some are 8 and 9's. Many are hardened, experienced pros. Also there are many Colombian men around the clock tower trying to intervene and collect a fee for introducing you to a woman-they are interloper pests and will try to get money from you for introductions, if you let them- avoid them. "My friend" is usually what they say or "What do you want, my friend. " "No moleste" is a good phrase to repeat and they will counter with "its my job", or "this is not your country" and then leave you alone. Most of these aggressive men come by launch from the island of Baru and are trying to sell something during the daytime and are pests. They are low lifes but you are a rich man if you can afford an airplane ticket there and look like a gringo, and their job is to get easy money from a stupid tourist.
Movie theatres are closed. Many restaurants have limited staff and slow service. Everyone wears masks, except the girls at the clock tower go without masks so you can see their face.
In my dream I met a solid 9, 20 years old, great body, and had a bareback experience for 300 mil pesos. Everything was bareback except no BBBJ. Not sure why, I would have rated her at 9. 5 if she did mamar me pene also. She originally said she wanted 500 mil pesos, but I said no, and kept interviewing the other girls. Great performance in the bedroom, her name was Catholina or something like that.
About 40 girls at clock tower at 8 pm. Girls were just standing around because not many customers. Probably 80% of the girls were Venez. Most bars closed at midnight.

I do not know how to say "pimping" in Spanish. I told this one asshole this is English and then with my limited Spanish I insinuated by asking "quieres hablamos con policia"? Yes I have come to detest those aggressive guys with the "Mister or Hello Sir or My Friend", they are usually costeno jack asses who if you don't set them straight right away will walk and pester you for 3 blocks.
My rule with these punks after 2 of my polite but firm "No Thank you amigo" is to say "Fuck Off you maricon, get the fuck away from me you costeno piss ass", it works. And should they come back with something I will get right into their sorry brown ass lazy costeno face and threaten them, these guys stand about 5'-4" and weigh in at about 130 lbs and size matters especially in Colombia.
For many of them this is the only thing that will keep them in check and just maybe they will not harass the next gringo that they encounter.

Also if you don't make eye contact it discourages them. No reason at all to get anywhere near physical. I've seen locals surround a tourist while one of them takes out his frustration. I've travel thru out Latin America for years and I have never seen it so dangerous as it is today. My MO is to say nothing and just wave my finger back and forth in a no thanks fashion, that way they never hear my gringo accent and it has worked beautifully for me. From the pain in ass vendors in Copa as it does with the Venezolano beggars on the streets of Bogota. Us stand up guys always feel like we need to teach these punks a lesson but most of these outcomes will be bad. I remember coming out of Help a few years ago at 5 or 6 AM and a drunk Russian asshole decided to bad mouth a gringo coming down the steps toward TA. The gringo could handle himself and clocked this guy and he feel down the steps unconscious. The cops came and if you know the Rio cops, they just took him to jail, no questions asked. Long story short, he spend 3 of his 7 day vacation in a Rio jail so what did he prove. When I'm traveling, I try to avoid any confrontation, I know I can handle myself, so I don't need to prove I'm a stand up guy to anyone in another country. Life is cheap in Colombia, you can get somebody dumped for less than 300 k cop. So best is to avoid it all. Peace brother.

These costenos need to go back to when they were in their early teens to their favorite donkey where they learned to fuck, oh they love their donkeys and have such a fondness for them, yes I know the costa culture more than most people. I know and understand their dark secrets.
Some of you will take offense to my opinion but travel around enough and you will come to the same understanding and conclusions. I have seen much.

Still quite hot during the day and may be more comfortable and slightly cooler with breezes in January and February. Maybe more people after the virus scare is over. Last weekend I had 2 girls come up to me in Laguito, conversate and offer me their phone numbers. They were asking 200,000 pesos for their company. Both were doable, but 8's and not 9's. One (Victoria) had a herpes blister on her lip, I asked her about that and she said she had a fever a few days before- no thanks.

Conversely, I have seen many furriners take a nice beat down in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. And unless the ATM is opened wide, guess who goes away in cuffs in the bed of a pickup truck. And hope that the cops have even gotten there in time. And they really don't have to concept of machismo as we understand it.
So its a lot easier to smile and be happy. Its their country, their people, their rules. You are a guest. The cost of your airfare can feed one of the bottom feeders for a year, if you can't deal with the fact that in these countries, you are seen as a walking ATM, you shouldn't be there.
