I read a report here about having an Arab WG from Kings Park hotel, I think. Seems interesting experience and want to try it. Any advises here about places? Methodolgy?

As promised, some detail from my prowling adventures over recent months in the triangle of fun.

November 2010. An 8 day visit.

My first ever visit to Marine's Bar at Seaview Hotel was after a boozy business / pleasure dinner second night in. Returned to my hotel to change in to my denim casuals, grabbed a taxi to Seaview, located the club, paid my 50 Dhs entrance, upstairs and in. It was a Tuesday, must have been about 11. 30pm, club only reasonably busy and band on a break at the time.

It's guys like this who are worth less than nothing. Why not send more money so she can stay in the Philippines? And why act as if you own her because of some monthly allowance? Punters have at least the decency to stop claiming the girl once the deed is done, but this loser thinks he owns her like some 18th century slave trader. On top of that, what boyfriend in his right mind would check on ISF to see if his girlfriend is being mentioned. If you can't handle the fact your girlfriend might be seeing guys, fair enough. But then just dump her, instead of going all jealous on her. Only weak, spineless, slimy creatures mistake jealousy for caring. Yuck, yuck, and yuck.

And that's not even the worst. How small minded, vengeful and utterly pathetic do you have to be to show your girlfriend extracts of postings here? The only purpose is to hurt the girl he says he loves. Well, if that's love, try hate for a change, surely that would be more empathic. This breach of trust is what is the most annoying. People who post here should be able to do so knowing that it stays confidential. The moment putos like him break this rule, people get hurt, esp. The girls.

She is on the verge of committing suicide, she said there is no point in living anymore because of shame for her family. I mean WTF can you say to a statement like this? One can only hope this is the typical fili drama. Then again, if she really offs herself, well, congratz boyfriend, thank you for spreading your love, dude.

Posted this is reply to LTs FR in the Abu Dhabi thread. Why do these giuy do it, and why do they think they are clever. Have known a few ISG guy become the Pope once they find a girlfriend via this board (some via me) but they never learn. Even shows the FR as well. Very clever must feel so powerful and dominant. did a walk around one afternoon, starting with jockeys bar (panarama) , it's very much a rowdy pub sometimes, but its ok. a mixture of girls, not the best, but some good sorts and characters amongst them. walked over the road to ramada hotel to check out rumours, not only was it not open, it has been closed permanently. tick that one of your list. headed up the road to york hotel and checked out the bar just to the right of the entrance, mostly prc and african. the atmosphere was a little desperate. started walking up to tgif at astoria hotel (probably a 10 minute walk) , the guy at the door was going to make me pay but i just walked in. it was pretty empty, maybe 3 or 4 girls of not my interest. made an exit and caught an abra (little boat) across the creek on a sunny afternoon.

then walked down to broadway hotel – coffee shop and bar, (a long walk, but i like walking). the coffee shop was interesting, a variety of girls, some almost tempted me. the bar beside the coffee shop is where most of the girls hang out nowadays. walked a block up the road over to moscow hotel and visited the tolstoy library bar on the ground floor just to the left, about 8 girls rep001tered around the place. nice bar. free entry. it remained open in the 4 to 7 period, but i think that this was because bars are allowed to stay open at the moment whilst the cricket world cup is on, yay! for the cricket world cup! obviously the red square club wasn't open yet, but around 7. 30 i popped in and had a look around, of course it was far to early.

n. b. this walk around was in february in the middle of their so called winter (only highs of 30 degrees cel) , to walk so far in summer would simply not be possible.

Thanks Nickc for an interesting report, especially from the Deira perspective. I've never been across to the dark side in Deira, it's good to know that Broadway, Moscow and Radisson are all walkable from the Abra station. I enjoy the occasional Abra trip as well, when staying in Bur Dubai. Although usually heading for the Spice or Gold Souk.

I'll make a point of locating the mongering hotels on Google maps now.

Panorama Bur Dubai is a good basecamp, I can recommend it as a humpers heaven (sorry, I mean ideally suited to single male travellers).

Enjoyed the blog on hubpages re Jockeys, pretty close. I've also heard Jockeys described as being like the barscene from Starwars. Must look for the dartboard on the pillar as well, never noticed that. It's a good base. I tend to breakfast in the internet cafe in Al Ain centre across the road, can't hack the Paranormal breakfasts.

It's been over a year since my last stay there. 4 nights in Jan 2010. Absolutely ideal for dragging my quarry, for the night, back to my lair on foot. 2 from the York, and one from The Music Room as I recall (separate contracts). I was staying in the farthest away bedroom on the top floor, but could still hear the nightclubs a bit!

My next trip is in April, so will probably have a few days at Panorama prior to my work stint of 2 weeks. I've also been in the St George hotel across the water and it's quite walkable from the upper Abra station on the Deira side. Have only stopped in late afternoon a couple of times for a coffee or tea though, usually after a trip to the Deira souks. I'm usually totally sensible during the hours of daylight. Thanks for the info on early evening / night time action there.

i ain't in dubai anymore but i still browse these threads; had some good times in the 2 yrs i worked in dubai. i saw the post on lucy's amp and i thought i should share this:-

"lucy" or "lisa" has afaik three branches in the city; there's one behind sahara mall, there's a new one in deira and of course there's the popular jumeirah branch. expatriates and craigslist might have been bait-and-switch central but it was the place you could work out which ones are currently on the grid and open for business. i mean, they had two or three rooms in the same building in al nahda and half a dozen contact numbers! and everyone here knows how the cops stake out the jumeirah place. it's the expat / craigslist advertisement, 'specially the same grammar and message format, that lets you (safely) work out it's the same management.

this is especially useful if you are paranoid and explicitly forbade them from contacting you on fresh arrivals / new year offers. i guess the management was quite comfortable with the internet ads arrangement too; the first few times i contacted them to make appointments the "wardens" used to ask me "where you get number, mister? who tell you?" and when i said internet they seemed relieved. of course this was till they could identify my voice right at "hello,".

since expatriates and craiglist don't host those ads anymore you got to rely on the really clued in mongers whose numbers are on lisa's / lucy's speed dial. i will be visiting dubai soon and i wish to errrrrrm. re-establish links with that establishment.
